Yeh Harves said that on local talk back radio here in Perth

Dockers aren't in much of a position to negotiate

They are if multiple teams want his services.

why not Ossie?

Because when faced with taking a pick or getting nothing at all, the Dockers will take a pick. Tarrant is leaving. Tarrant is over 30. Tarrant is injury prone.

Reckon a pick's better value anyway. Maybe if a player was leaving anyway, and even then, you'd better hope for a WA boy.

Unless the Dockers want to screw themselves over like St. Kilda did with Luke Ball, you'll take what's given to you!

Agree with that but I think it probably wont come to that. More than one club will be interested which puts Freo in a position of power. If it was just one club then you would be right.

I don't think may clubs are interested in trading too much away for a 30 year old who has had 1 & 1/2 good seasons as a defender.  Plus the GC are not involved as he wants to come to Melbourne.

Hawthorn might be tempted as it is such a huge weakness for them, Essendon perhaps to give the young guys some cover when Fletch leaves but it wouldn't be the brightest move for a new coach. Beyond that????

Carlton and St Kilda are both rumoured to be interested as they both consider themselves in the window and are both lack a good solid key defender.

Why don't the hawks make a play for Taz and Rhys Palmer, say a trade of Roughy and Lad/Dowler? We are desperate for mids with pace and frankly Roughy doesn't look like or play like he wants to be at the club.

valkorum

I have heard that been thrown up a couple of times (the plamer/taz - roughy trade).  I think maybe a dowler and muston or ladsen deal may get the nod if Freo are interested in trading Palmer.

Chris Scott has come out and said that the club is looking for key forwards (Dowler) and midfield depth (Muston/Ladsen)

I am still partial to the straight swap of Dowler for Taz

Harsh on Roughy, puts is body on the line like few others in the marking contest. Just very low on confidence when it comes to kicking for goal. He did kick 50 goals for the year despite his inaccuracy. Not a chance in hell the Hawks will trade him.

Hypothetically though, he would be worth MUCH more than Taz and Palmer.

Hawka

No way to not trade roughy

BuddyINK

It's not really harsh on him, he had more lack luster games than good ones. Even against freo in round 21 he didn't look interested and only got involved when others tried to bring him into the game. I'm not a roughy hater but just think that mentally he'd perform better at another club where he would be the out and out focal up forward. For as much as him and Buddy worked well in 2008, it just doesn't seem to work now and I think he'd love a fresh start too.

Hawka

i dont want palmer i recokon either a dowler-taz or ladson taz is the best

BuddyINK

We need speed in the midfield so Palmer would be a good option if it was an option with a trade for taz.

Hawka

to many mids already mitchel, hodge, sewel, burgoyne, lewis, cyril, young and add the future stars savage and shiles i dont c any room
