Summary:

Once upon a time, Chad Cornes was the first player you'd select in your defence. He was the Brendon Goddard of his day! This year saw Chad struggle with form and injury, before eventually being put to rest for the season injured and in the SANFL after round 14.

He had a particularly good time between rounds 5 and 8 when he scored 4 consecutive, albeit small, centuries. He did not get past 109, and maybe his super-large scores are behind him.

The Crystal Ball:

Based on last year's magic number

Price: $415,400
Position: DEF/MID

I would think Chornes would still be considered a MPP, which puts almost any player into consideration. Who knows? With a full pre-season Chornes could come out with a blaze of glory. Boomer Harvey is still going strong after all! I have my doubts however, and is probably just a little expensive for an experiment. I think he will struggle for consistency, injury and form next year.

Port Adelaide insist there is still life in Chad Cornes, and is very much in their future plans.

Decision:

You never know, and a strong pre-season might turn things around, but he is an unlikely 'no' from me.

Will Chornes come back to his glory days?

Splitting from me usual 1-per-day philosophy as I won't be around tomorrow or Saturday

big No from me.....even if i thought he might come good at over 400000 not worth the risk....not that i think he will come good anyway...lol

Even if his form warranted selection, he'd probably be in and out of the side with niggling injuries.  Physically I don't think he's a Boomer Harvey, so an emphatic no from me.

I know I don't see him going back to his best, each to their own though.

An outstanding NO from me. Chaddy is too old and next year is his last season for the Power.
