Summary:

Bryce Gibbs is no doubt a rising star of the competition. But will he be a superstar? His stats for 2010 are inconclusive. Yes, he scored that monster 192 for his 45 touch display in round 10. But it was against the leagues worst team West Coast, and subsequently followed it up with his lowest score of the year with a 62 point, 11 touch display against Melbourne the very next round.

However, Gibbs role has changed. He spends more time as a gathering defender, and has claimed he wants to model his game on players such as Luke Hodge or Brendon Goddard. This did not stop him from not scoring a 100 from rounds 15-20, however two big scores in round 21 (130) and 22 (121) would've made any Supercoach happy in their finals.

The Crystal Ball:

Based on last year's magic number

Price: $554,800
Position: DEF/MID

I'm not convinced that Gibbs will be a DEF/MID MPP next year, but it is probably likely. With question marks over whether Goddard or Hodge will still be given MPPs, Gibbs could be the saviour for team structure. I think Gibbs will still average around 100, he is a young star with a growing amount of experience.

Decision:

A lot depends on how he is classified. If he is just a midfielder, I won't select him. MPP? Well, he will definitely be on the short list. He is very pricey, not that much lower than last year's starting price, and is a significant chunk in your budget.

Is the Price for Bryce right?

HP FTW!

Same for me, if he is MPP I will most likely choose between him and DLids.

aviod picking him or any other carlton player as they are all shower  ???

I will definitely have a look at him in the backline. Can be inconsistent though, which is my worst hate! >:(

He's not playing all that great IMO against Sydney right now!

Alex7089

Yeah not his best day today.
Not really the style of game he would thrive in though.

Agreed. Not so many games like it...

Alex7089

Yeah there will not be many games like that next year.

I still think he will be inconsistent, might take the punt we will see if he fits in :P

HE will be an MPP he has played on half back most of the year.

Tagging roles worry me.
Watchlist.

Rule one in Supercoach, no down hill skiiers, they let you down when it counts.

A bit like Bryce against Sydney on the weekend. Where was he when it counted?  At his price I thik there will be better options.
