Best captain? A tough one.

I'm picking Brent Harvey

RiOtChEsS

Judd u may argue im bias but i honestly believe he has the biggest impact on his club

James McDonald gets my vote this year.

Even though he isn't the best of the Captains, he has surely helped the younger mids at the Demons. He even cut his career short so that these same guys can get a chance to grow in the coming years. Could of played another 2 years but decided to let others grow into the positions.

I was torn between him and Pav as they have both been great role models for the younger players this year.  I went with Pav because at the beginning of the year he was leading the charge for Freo and dragging everyone up with him.  Then when he was on a bit of a lul (ankle injury) the players rallied and did the job without him at his best.

BTW -- James was told that he would not be required next year so he retired

Never knew that. But was still a good influence on his entire team.

I have to say Nic but not this year missed to much so Pav for me.

Would have to say Watson. Has been amazing all year, leading by example earning the hard ball even with all of the issues the club has had on and off the field.

And the winner is Brett Kirk!

Not one of us picked that :)

Pretty deserved winner when you think about it. He is a great leader, always manages to get his troops up and firing!

True, but it feels much more like a gift for a great player and person of the game as they leave than a reflection on this year. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing.

Deserved it he has been a warrior for Sydney.
Top player top bloke well done Cap'n Kirk!
