The short list of 40 for the All Australian this year has been released. Who is in your team from those 40?

Mine:

James FrawleyBrian LakeBrett Deledio
Harry O’BrienHarry TaylorBrendon Goddard
Adam CooneyLeigh MontagnaJoel Selwood
Gary AblettLance FranklinPaul Chapman
Mark Le CrasBarry HallJack Riewoldt
Aaron SandilandsDane SwanLuke Hodge
Shane MumfordAlan DidakJobe WatsonChris Judd

I have watched a fair bit of footy this year so I think my judgements are pretty well based on this year's form alone. Agree or Disagree?

Master Q

Jnr Roo should play in his preferred position don't you think? He did win the coleman, plus the only reason why buddy is at CHF in your team is because you go for Hawks.

Hawka

Buddys has had a awesome yr but he shoundt b in

My reasoning was that if selected in a team together, Buddy would most likely play at CHF where as he would probably play more FF but Barry would most likely take preference at FF. Fair call though.

Lets compare his season to Jack Riewoldt's:

Average Goals: 3.65 to 3.54
Average Scoring Shots: 6.12 to 5.32
Average Tackles: 3.65 to 3.09
Average Disposals: 18.06 to 11.64

I'm not saying his season was better, but it was bloody close. He is certainly in the best 6 forwards of the 40 in the list.

SCADDICT

Get Harry O out of there. He's been way over hyped this year. Malceski deserves it more.

So, he was the best at that position, he gets it.

A few first timers more than likely this year!!

I'll put together my team from the list in a bit.

If that is the case then Barry Hall gets the pocket. Riewoldt played FF, he played much deeper and had less impact up the ground than Franklin. Happy to make that concession.

Mine Is:

B: James Frawley, Brian Lake, Brady Rawlings
HB: James Kelly, Harry Taylor, Luke Hodge
C: Joel Selwood, Dane Swan, Brendon Goddard
HF: Alan Didak, Jack Riewoldt, Paul Chapman
F: Lance Franklin, Barry Hall, Gary Ablett
FOLL: Aaron Sandilands, Leigh Montagna, Chris Judd
INTER: David Mundy, Dustin Fletcher, Brad Green, Matthew Boyd

Some tough choices. Jamar, Goodes, Enright and Pav are others I would put in mine for this year. But just miss out. Dids could easily be replace by Pav ;).

As good as the Eski has been this year, I would have Brady Rawlings above him.

Might be right on Harry, saw him in action live on the weekend and was amazed with how deceptively fast he can be. You just don't get the same sense from TV, bit like how fast tennis is live.

Goodes and Pav weren't consistently good enough for me this year, maybe I am being to harsh based on their lofty standards.

Disagree with Fletcher. Had a very good season, don't get me wrong, but I don't think he was up there with some of the others on that list.

Interesting not to have a second ruckman up there.

Other than that it is hard to argue against any of the others. All very good players and in the end it is a opinion based reward. No other way to do it.

Justin Bieber

Wasn't sold on Fletch either due to so many suspensions and games missing from action.

Mundy is in as a smokie. Has had a stunning year for those who've watched Freo's games and seen past the bigger names.

hawk_88

Mundy had a great year. I just couldn't find a spot for him. Certainly unlucky to miss out on my list.
