Finals time - how are 'we' feeling?

So it is finals time and we are top of the ladder.

(CFC & Master Q if you participate from here you formally consent to the use of 'we' confirming your true colours  ;)).

I just wanted to gaugue how we Collingwood supporters are travelling & what we are hoping for in the next couple of weeks. Personally I have a few nerves & still think we are the 2nd best side behind Geelong and therefore hope St.Kilda work them over this week. We really should do the Dogs but anything can, and does, happen.

Thoughts?

Terrified Cruise. This is the best chance we've had at a flag since I can remember (being only 4 in 1990).

I'm wary about the Dogs. I'm wary about the Cats. I'm wary about the Saints. I'm wary about the Swans. I'm wary about the Blues. I'm wary about the Hawks. I'm wary about the Dockers.

Lots of little injuries of late that I can only hope is General Soreness.

... and don't get me started on goal accuracy.

But, quietly hopeful!

Definitely agree that we are still behind the Cats. The dogs will have to play well to beat us this week though. Fingers crossed that goals look a bit bigger for us this week. Prepare to see the Pies crack 90 tackles this week.

So it is very likely to be raining heavily on Sat night, how does this impact us?

I'm a bit worried that the go wide game plan falls down in such conditions although the Doggies also like moving it quick.

Stress, stress, stress.

LOL. That's how I felt in '07

At least you will have 2 less teams to be 'wary' about soon ossie ;)
You should be counting your blessings escaping the wrath of Essendon in September! RAWR!

Is 1990 the last time Pies v Essendon played in the finals? And that wasn't even September!

Cruiseon

Ossie I think we played the semi final against Essendon on the 23th Sept 1990 (a lazy 63 point win) so whilst the GF was in Oct we did them in Sept.

What am I doing? I'm losing focus on finals eve!!!! Deep breath, don't look back, live in the moment, one week at a time.

I'm getting really concerned that Collingwood are favoured so strongly to win. Seriously. It will be a lot closer than people think.

Is this a sense of nerves I'm sensing?? Your lucky your not in Melbourne Ossie, the press are building them up so much, which i like :)

Cruiseon

No pressure Fletch except for last minute swimming lessons as the game is likely to be played in about 1 metre of rain!!!!

'Bout 15 inches according to Browny (not David Brown weather man, John Brown AFL star :P)

Cruiseon

This town is only big enough for one Browny when the finals are on........ you can forget David & John, it is all about big bad Leroy!!!!!

Alex7089

OK.... Leroy, I'll be behind him :P Wonder if HE can perform in september, unlike little non-bad Leon ;D
