CFC 1979

on a serious note Travis Tuck was found last friday night suffering from a drug overdose in his car. He's ok but it must be stressing his family.

reported on one week at a time

depression will do that to a person ( i'm assuming depression )

Big Lance

Clear liquid was GBH, very sad day for such a great football family.

Good pick up CFC!

12 weeks. That's his career I think

Whilst I think the system of three strikes is good in merit, in that we help the players out rather than 1 strike and you're all over the news. I think this highlighted the fact that perhaps more people need to be made aware of when a player receives strikes, not just the club Doctor and the AFL.

In Tuck's case he is suffering from depression. Apparently it's up to the player if they want to let others know that they have received a strike... I can't really see that happening!

Yes, the AFL are ahead of most other organisations in testing out of season for elicit drugs etc, but they need to involve others, otherwise we will end up having others in this situation...

I hope for Tuck's sake, it is not his career, but I think you're right Ossie, it will be his career. IMO, if others had known about this earlier, then perhaps this may have been avoided??

CFC you are spot on, it definitely wasn't Tuck named when those records were lost, then found, then bought by channel 7. Buddy & Hodge were always the ones I heard although they are the highest profile as well so I wouldn't take that as 100% gospel.

Although the club didn't find out in the right way, of course Jeff or Clarkson would never admt there was/is any problem at Hawthorn. The policy of not telling clubs, right or wrong, has been in force for several years, why do Hawthorn only debate it now.

It is good Hawthorn have said they will retain Tuck, I would have thought a delisting would have been inevitable next year for him. Do Hawks supporters think this incident(s) has changed theor approach?

the drug policy needs some tweaking, the club wernt even in a position to help the lad ???

That's my point. Not enough people were aware of his problem. It's up to him to notify others if he wants to. I can't really see that happening.

Good on the AFL for their stance etc, but it does need tweaking.

they wouldnt of debated it earlier bcos its hard to predict what may happen and if it could directly affect them, if they show up do their job but dont excel addicts will fly under the radar bcos they know its wrong and they wont reach out for fear of judgement.
