Yeah, fair call. Was more focusing on the fact Port didn't even make the grand final despite finishing top for 2 years.
In '03 Port lost the first QF to the 4th place Swans who were 2 or 3 players down by half time if i remember correctly (which I probably don't). Granted they had a 2nd chance but flowering hell if they were the #1 team that year then they should have won that game by a fair margin...

You have more chance to win finals if you can score at the extremes regularly, ie very low score one week and very high the next, than if your team is consistent.
That's my experience anyway.
