Hey everyone, just having a look over my team for Round 3 and I have been wondering...

This is my team at present.

Back: Hodge, Cornes, Adcock, Malceski, Houlihan, Hill, Suckling.
Back Emg: Raines, Broughton.

Center: Ablett, Bartel, Dal Santo, Rich, Beams, Robinson.
Center Emg: Otten, Butler

Ruck: Cox, Jacobs
Ruck Emg: Ottens, Spencer

Forward: Harvey, Deledio, Pavlich, Lovett, Higgins, Skipworth, Krakouer
Forward Emg: Walker, Brown (Eagles)

With 18 trades (stupid round 1 injuries) and $380,000 in the bank (Cousins for Beams!) what should should my next move be?

With so many cash-cows in my midfield, should I upgrade Butler?

With a weak backline, should I upgrade/trade Hill?

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated! :D

Looks like a freight train hit it. At least you have some cash in hand now.

Forwardline is fine.

I'd probably swap Ottens for Mcintosh or Jolly or whomever you like, Mcintosh probably ideal. Get this sorted asap.

Midfield can probably survive for now, i'd move otten in over one of beams and robinson, just for his consistancy, you can make the choice based on matchups.

Replace raines with whichever backman you like. Pick one that isn't injury prone because the last thing you need now is an injury. Also try to be thrifty because next week you'll need to upgrade butler. Leigh Harding is an option. Peter Burgoyne or Drummond if you like to live on the edge.

Wait till next week on butler, your kid midfielders are better than your backman kids, so he can wait. Also a couple of midfielders will drop in price significantly ie daniel wells, joel selwood,so you can hop on him later.

It looks bad but you should be fine for the start of playoff season.

Yeah, I couldn't believe my team after Round 1. Then more injuries in Round 2, just feels like nothing will go right for me at the moment.

Im very interested about your comments about Ottens and Raines, those weren't the two players I was thinking of trading at all, but I can see your point.

I think I will leave Raines, he should be back in a couple of weeks, trading him now would only seem a waste.

I am partial however on trading Ottens. I had thought about McIntosh, but what about Koschitzke?

I'm really more trying to focus on my backline cause I'm sure you can see, its pathetic.

Keeping raines is almost wrong. No guarantee he'll make the team when he gets back or even play well

If you're trying to fix your backline then the Raines trade is the one u will need to make.

I have been thinking about it overnight and...

I will leave Butler this week even though the price rises are going to put high premium players futher out of reach (Goodes, Judd).

I'm going to trade Hill/Raines for Gilbert, Hurn or even a smokey in Patfull.

I'm still unsure about trading Ottens, if I was going to trade him it ould probably be for Koschitzke (even though he is up against Cox!)

I really REALLY dont want to use 2 more trades this week, but I might have to...

Thoughts?

u definitely need to trade raines. i would trade him for Gilbert who is only going to get better.
and yes definitely trade ottens as well. i would go for McIntosh who is going to go up a lot in price.

p.s raines is not going to play for a while and may even play 1 game in the reserves have to trade him out.

My final decision is:

1. Trade Hill for Patfull.
2. Trade Ottens for Koschitzke.

Yeah, well Patfull was the smokey choice...should have stuck with the favourite on that one.

As for McIntosh, I'm still happy for the Kosi choice. Only 6 points difference. Kosi is the one they can put up forward as well as in the ruck...McIntosh is probably going to be Kangas fulltime ruckman now that Hale is out. So, wont be much difference.

Dont call him an idiot dude. Even the best players make errors of judgement. My friend traded out adcock last week, and he's still ranked in the top 500. I'm sure i could pick your team apart too. Go easy..
