He's certainly got a few people talking already... Don't know what to make of it really  :-\

For sure he will coach us at some stage but I don't know if it's the right thing to do now. Look at Voss, he's as bad as Knights almost!

Don't like Walls but he said one thing this week which I agree with or Hope he's right about, that Knights won't be coach next year ;D

I'm not sure if Hird has the right attitude - with Buckley and Voss, they always stated they wanted to coach, and worked hard to get it (Buckley's apprenticeship, and Voss was going to do West Coast assistant before the Lions fell in his lap). With Hird, you get the impression he thinks the job is his whenever he wants it, and bugger the assistants putting the hard yards in while he's earning media dollars.

Hird won't coach. As Ossie has pointed out, he does not have the right attitude to coach. He's enjoying what he's currently doing now.

I seriously hope he doesn't coach. He won't just be able to jump into the role like that!!

After reading that I got the feeling Hirdy really doesn't want to walk away from his business and if that is the case obviously he couldn't dedicate himself fully to the club and that would be bad.

He is not ready to be a senior AFL coach, he needs some experience first, he can't just jump right into it.

Cmon hirdy if you never played for the club u wouldnt say this the bombers are gona pick him just cos he was a gun vossy was a bad choice by hadnt had previous afl head coach or assitant expirence...sheeds didnt play for essendon,bomber thomspon didnt play for cats,clarko didnt play for hawks

I never said he did! I said I get the impression he does. I could be wrong (I often am!). Just he hasn't done any significant coaching since he quit, and I won't believe he is serious about it until he applies for coaching jobs.

I agree with ossie in every way.
As much as I love Hirdy and I think maybe in the future he could coach SOMEWHERE in the AFL- I would not want to see him get the job without any experience.
IMO for him to think he would really be considered for the job without ANY experience ::)

Got everybody to turn on Knights (Well the rest :P). He should be an assistant first I agree with you ossie. Look how Scott has turned out.
