To trade or not to trade?

What should I do:

Trade (please list who)
Dont trade

wooly

I am struggling to decide whether or not I should make a trade this week.

My opponent and I have virtually the same team bar the players listed below (my players on the left vs my opponents players on the right):

Gilbert vs Duffield
Stanton vs Hayes
Sandilands (Warnock/ Trengove back-up) vs Hille
Didak vs Chapman
Riewoldt vs Rockliff
Pavlich vs Brown

I have 1 trade and 34K remaining.

I am feeling reasonably confident (especially if Sandilands plays) but I think my opponent has trades left (which he will undoubtedly be using), so I want to make my team as strong as possible. Obviously I will be waiting until Friday to make my decision as alot will depend on injury reports, MRP, etc, but some advice now would be welcome.

..... hold. But a tough decision wooly

Also for your information - starting players that we both have:

Goddard
Hodge
Enright
Malceski
Carrazzo
Waters
Swan
Ablett
Montagna
Boyd
Bartel
Cox
Goodes
ROK
Giansiracusa
Franklin

Let me know if you think I should trade any of the above. Thanks guys!

I wouldnt be trading any of the same players and concentrate your focus on the players that are different.

I think it will be a close one for you and your trading will depend on if Sandi is playing.  I think the week link could be Duffman v Gilbert (seeing as Freo are playing in Tassie).  Either way your decision could make or break your game

Fenno

I danno how Duffman will go but Playing in Tassie is normally a good thing when it come to DT. Its DT heaven there stats don't lie

Totally agree with you valkorum, this decision has the potential to either win it for me or cost me.

I usually agree with not trading players who are the same, but what do you think of Malceski to Duffield? Malceski struggles against the Dogs and hasn't tonned up since Rnd 15, it neutralises Duffield and essentially makes it Gilbert vs Malceski? (Another option is Scotland who scores well against the Cats, but would be a bigger risk)

valkorum

Another option instead of Duffman would be Broughton.  Bit more unique and has racked up bigger scores than Duffman the last couple of weeks.

Yeah definitely an option, but it would be safer going with Duffman. So do you think the Malceski trade is a good one?

valkorum

Malceski does seem like a weak link.  I think Broughton is a bit more consistant that Duffman

Last 4 games from both players

Duffman: 80, 93, 85, 54
Broughton: 95, 99, 120, 60

Selections:
Duffman: 26,815
Broughton: 8,812

Both should give about the same scores but if you go Duffman then it will be Gilbert (you) v Malceski (opp)

If you go Broughton it will give you another difference - Gilbert (you) v Malceski (opp) & Broughton (you) v Duffman (opp)

Could be the difference (or it might not be :P)

IMO you will probably lose the battle with out trading, as Roo can't make up ground for the whole team, and I'm not sure if Pav will beat Brown.
And I don't think Sandi will be named,

Trading Eski or Carrots is the thing I would do.

valkorum

I think Sandi is a 90% chance to be named this week and Roo made it up for me this week :)

Master Q

I think I saw something on here what said he won't...
