Master Q

Where are the Hawks going next, they won the flag in 08', had a shocker in 09', and now are having a bit of a mysterious season. Where do people expect them to finish next year, will they be dropping any players? Or perhaps bringing some new faces?

bunyip

Who knows! Teams go up and down. Maybe other teams have worked them out or have just caught up to them. I said at the start of the season that if you want to win a premiership you have to improve every season, they haven't so are falling behind.

Hawka

hmmm expect players who are ok but not playin much to leave eg.tuck, muston, dowler not great names we need a ruck and a tall defnder and our flag window isnt closed yet hopefully a top 4 finsh if injuires go our way and we get some constincy

bunyip

I don't believe in a flag window to be honest hawka. You guys fix a few holes, and thats why the coaches get the big bucks, and you've got a good team again.

Master Q

Hawthorn won't win a Premiership this era I think. Roughy isn't in form, Buddy is over rated, Back Line problems. The positive side is that Hodge is a Brownlow favourite.

Hawka

Dont think hawks will win the flag this year but roughy can get some form next year improve his kicking, young defenders such as startton and shoey will improve and a tall defender over 195 and strong would b nice and buddy overrated a guy dosent get 100vgoals in a yr and be overtaed

Yes they do, look at Buddy for example  ;D

He kicked 100 because of form and a mega amount of supply. Here's a stat for you, he kicked 113 Goals and 88 Behinds including finals.

INcluding games where Hawthorn dominated and he had 20+ scoring shots ::)

Yeah, he can't nail a goal half the time, he gets ample opportunity, half the forwards in the AFL could of done that in '08, although he is a good contested mark, he seems to not be so much any more though ::)

So we agree he is overrated.

CFC 1979

they got the fowards
they got the mods

problems - backline exposed a bit. need some more experience
biggest problem - rucks. they don;t seem to have a competative ruck division

In comparison to whom Q?

Fev  ??? LOL  ;D

Buddy's form and Hawks gameplan change has been brought about by Stewart Dew's retirement. It was easy to set the rolling zone into place when Dew was around because if it went pear shaped, the Hawks only had to dish it off to Dew and he would pin point Buddy lace out from 60m away. Dew had the experience and booming kick to expose the flood and Buddy and Clarkson knew it.
Buddy now has been pulled up on the wing in recent years because of his speed and his tank + great hands - the downside is you cant kick 'em from the wing ( unless you're Malcolm Blight).
Education and adaptation will be the key for Clarkson and his men, having enough players fit to utilise the rotation system being used today to so much success...ala Collingwood.

Master Q

Do you think he is overated
