Well, we all know Carlton and Essendon are ties on 16 Premierships. Collingwood are closely behind on 14. Today, I was thinking who would be the next leader in the Premiership tally? I hope Pie supporters admit that they won't win 3 in a row, and I really think any other team will come back, especially the ones who have less than 10. The main question is who do you think will get the next premiership out of Carlton and Essendon. Both teams are young with good potential, surely won of them will win it soon. Thoughts?

I think Carlton have a chance, as Geelong and the Bulldogs are getting old, St.Kilda are also loosing touch a bit, a Collingwood may win a Premiership in a few years, but I don't think they'll take home more then 1. Freo are doing well this season but lack the star power and rely too much on the Sandi/Pav combo, who are getting old. To me that leaves Carlton, Essendon, Hawks and possibly Melbourne.

I think Carlton will win a premiership before Essendon does, to be honest. Their forward line is developing very well without Fev and I think that their mid has a lot of class in there. It has been the trand, Carlton getting ahead Essendon clawing back ::)

Out of the Blues and Bombers? I think the Blues have more class, but have serious structure issues.... but Essendon has more structure with serious class issues.

.... merge?

Nah, I'd say Carlton * vomits a little inside *

Carlton won't win a premiership for years. They had to do it this year but they are just treading water.

Really? So who wins 2013? All the big teams (except for maybe Freo or Collingwood) are all getting old?

Alex7089

Freo and Collingwood are my bet. Or North comes from nowhere to win it ;D

Master Q

2015? Gold Coast and ?

Alex7089

Gold Coast will win a premiership within 5 years of entering I think much to my disgust  :-\ :-X

North/Carlton/Essendon?
And who is the best out of those 3?

North won't have Boomer and Petrie (If he's old, which I think he is)

Essendon won't have Fletch, but Pears and Hooker will be in prime, although they can only stop 2 players at a time.

Carlton - Judd could still be around, Murphs would be in the Top 5 Midfielders, Gibbs would have Improved, Kruezer will have bulked up, Simpson and Carrazo would have Improved there skills, and Betts, Yarran and Gartlett would all be in their prime!

Boomz

Sadly it will be Carlton up there with GC...

You all but said it up there Q. I think those other few will still be in the top 4 or at least contending. North will lose players but they have a heap of players who will be coming into their prime.
