Well the AFL has come out with all sorts of options for changing the rules in 2011.

what are your thoughts?

have you had "Your Say" http://www.afl.com.au/aflrulesyoursay/tabid/16504/default.aspx

Personally, i reckon that they should leave it alone except for boundary umpires calling holding/high shots and dragging the ball under an opponent.

also.. the ball hittingthe post and going through counts as a goal.. like the rule in rugby..
RIDICULOUS!!!

To be honest I don't really agree with any of those rules  ::)
I suppose the interchange one could be ok, the scoring is ridiculous, I don't think the player could always be able to call advantage because he might be looking forward to see if there are players running on or something and what does HE have to yell out advantage?

The logic of limiting interchanges because a slower-more-tired player could injure themselves trying to keep up, is like saying 'let's make the quickest AFL players stick to a speed limit so as to not cause injuries to the people chasing them'

Collingwood use the interchange more than anybody, yet have one of the lowest injury lists. Dane Swan the most interchanged player, and has played 100+ games in a row. I'm for substitutes, just no limiting interchanges.

I am against hitting the post and scoring a goal/point.  Keep it as it is.

I am all for calling a free against the player who drags the ball under his opponent.  The way it stands at the moment the penalty is against the player who actually goes for the ball.

I like the idea of a sub for injured players and NO CAPPING of interchanges.  I would prefer 4 interchange players and 1 sub.

I dont like the idea of changing the quarter lengths and break times.

I totally agree with ossie on the interchanges, more interchanges helps players more than it hurts them. AFL needs to do some more research ::)

More interchanges, no rebounded off goal, review holding the ball rule, bring in video review for contentious goals...simple.

Is it just me or do they seldom get anything right these days? :(

all they need is netball skirts and the picture is complete

I agree Fireballz. Ridiculous!

If it ain't broke - why fix it . The game will never be perfect for everyone , but our game is awesome at the moment . Please don't change anything !! All the AFL need to do is watch a few games of rugby league and they will soon find out how much better our great game is .

What bs... The questions the AFL is asking in their survey are a joke! they have no option for no change at all on the majority of the questions so the results can't be taken seriously because everyone will just pick the one that will have the least amount of damage on the game. LEAVE IT AS IT IS.

True, though is worth pointing out that internet polls can't be taken seriously anyway
