Bastinac didn't receive a nomination this week cos he got one in round 3

Basti was nominated for a the rising star award after round 3.

if he was from a more hyped club he would be more of a chance of winning the award,probably will end up in 2nd or 3rd position.

I'm sick of that excuse - given Danyle Pearce and Rhys Palmer have won it recently from non-Victorian, non-hyped clubs.

Bastinac was dropped a few weeks ago and luckily got a late call-up. He has been a GREAT find but I think Hanneberry, Scully, Trengove, Reid, Stratton and Hurley are ahead of him this year.

Ossie,Scully has more potential,but in no way ,shape or form has had a better year than Basti.Scully=hype.
Hanneberry has had a few great matches,i saw one live myself,no where near as consistant as Basti tho.Sydney/AFL=hype
Ben Reid,you must be kidding me.This is his 4th year,the kid has been hopeless for 3.Collingwood=over-hyped
Stratton has been very good,and flown under the radar.
Hurley has been OK the last few weeks,but up until then has been more up and down than CFC1999 on Caro last night.Like Reid,he should not even be allowed in to the award for this year.

The fact that Reid and Hurley are not first years players doesn't change the fact they are nominated, they are.

Ben Reid has proven to be part of Collingwood's back 6 = currently ranked first on the ladder. I believe Bastinac would not make the Collingwood side atm.

Scully and Trengove are hyped for a reason. Because they are playing KEY roles in their first years. Key!

Collingwood's backline will be where they fail this September.

The pressure the midfield has been able to generate has been sensational,but once teams start to separate your defenders it will be clear for all to see.

Bastinac has easily been better then Ben Reid ossie. Reid is consistent but nothing to ride home about.
