In the interests of objectivity I ask all posters who advocate the selection of presti to confirm whether he is in their teams or not.

So is he in your team Q?

I'm not looking for problems with your advice Q, the problem is plain as day if you choose to look closely and interpret the data available to us DTers.

Perhaps the solution is not for me to understand you (I do FYI) but for you to understand me.

Below are some simple comparisons, I started the season with maguire and silvagni on the pine. I downsized them to Webberley and Strijk, in short I have had bench cover for the entirety of the season. Combined those four players earnt my team $605,000.

If I had presti in my team from round one, he would have missed 6 out of 18 games and lost my team $55,000.

Selecting him round 1 would have to be the dumbest move a DTer could make. I can understand selecting him in round 16 - 22 when earning cash for upgrades isnt as important and bench cover is. But it is pure madness telling people he is a handy pickup round 1 as you so eloquently did.

QuoteOf course in mid-season you might pick a rookie, but at the begging I'd pick Presti first.

Maguire: 13 games (from rd 1)
Starting value: 101,700
Trade out value: 286,600
Profit: $184,900

Silvagni: 13 games (debut rd 1)
Starting value: 77,800
Trade out value: 228,800
Profit: $151,000

Webberley: 10 games (debut rd 7)
Starting value: 89,500
Current value: 210,400
Profit: $120,000

Strijk: 7 games (debut rd 13)
Starting value: 77,800
Current value: 226,900
Profit: $149,100

Presti: 12 games (from rd 1)
Starting value: 145,000
Current value: 89,900
Loss: $55,100

Cheers
No, I'm pretty sure I get you. If you look at my 2 previous posts, it's says A. DT is likely to have 4 Bench players next and B. It's Next Year.

I don't have him because he was over priced, and there was some good quality rookies this year. But before you say anything else I'd take a look at this:
QuoteFF are backing 4 back-benches, so It would be quite stupid if you didn't have Presti.

It could look like this:

Presti 120k Punt   90k Sometimes Gamer    Cheap Rookie

That's how I'd set it out.

QuoteBut it is pure madness telling people he is a handy pickup round 1 as you so eloquently did.

So If I'm talking about next year, which I have been for the whole time, do you have anything to say that he shouldn't be picked?

Bluke

FanFooty posters have theorized that there will be 4 benchies next season?? AFL Dreamteam or supercoach havn't said anything along these lines have they?

So what your saying is pure conjecture.

Normally I would wait for a release from the AFL and Herald Sun on what rule changes will be made next year before commenting.

However, may arguement still applies and is just as valid.

Having 2 extra positions just means extra earning potential.

With four bench positions i would still pick presti last, the potential for him to make monetary gains is slight.

Say for instance there were 4 bench positions this year.

I would pick, and I suspect most others would as well.

Maguire, Silvagni, Hunt, Nason

or Kennelly or Beau Waters.

All infinately better options than Presti.

Well once again, if you read it correctly it says FF are backing , if you are interested where they say this, check this board - http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/board,46.0.html

For the picking of 4 players I don't understand why you wouldn't pick Presti. He plays every game, so is always there for cover, then you would pick a 120k Punt as I listed in the previous post, then a 90k sometimes gamer like Silvagni, then a cheap rookie like Strijik. But It's your opinion, everyone picks there own team  :P

Also, maybe next time, instead of saying my point is pure conjecture, look around or ask me where did you get that from?

Bluke

lol Q, it is conjecture.. FF dont make the rules, that entire board is speculation.

Or has M0nty been promoted to the AFL dream team rules commitee..???

CFC 1979

he scores as well as he polls in the brownlow

QuoteConjecture:
1.
the formation or expression of an opinion or theory without sufficient evidence for proof.
2.
an opinion or theory so formed or expressed; guess; speculation.

Ok, let me explain it for you. FF think that it will be a 4-4-3-4 set up next year (so do I), so that's what I used in my example. Get It Know?

Russ dogga

an above average score this wk, lookin great for next year :P
