What a gun, it was a pity that he scored some points, i wanted him to get 0  :D
That would've made me laugh. First time since Cam Mooney in '99?
yep think so.

I wonder if he gave away a few free kicks, would his price drop below zero?

Bluke

I'd rather take a punt on a young rookie and see if I cant earn ~120k instead.

Maybe he could be a useful pickup as a trade down target mid season but it would be stupid to take him from the start. Because of his low scores he has absolutely zero prospect of earning your team any cash.

FF are backing 4 back-benches, so It would be quite stupid if you didn't have Presti.

It could look like this:

Presti 120k Punt   90k Sometimes Gamer    Cheap Rookie

That's how I'd set it out.

Defs not!

I prefer my backup defenders, mature age rookie Strijk (77k) who scores in the range of 40 - 80 and young Webberley (89k) over Presti.

Both have more earning potential, both are worth +200k, both average more points per week, both are ripe for the culling and both were cheaper than Presti even at his rock bottom price of 90k.

Sorry but I would only waste a trade on him if there were no other options

Tell me this Q, is he in your team?

i agree.. no chance Presti will ever see the pine in my team

Master Q

Alright Bluke, seems like your trying to pick me out, so I'll shoot back.

If you look at the first page, it clearly says:
QuoteExactly, you need someone who plays each week. Defiant bench choice next year.

So First, stop trying to find a problem with advice, and look closely at what I'm saying.

Also, look at how many games strijik and webbs have played, compared to Presti. Of course in mid-season you might pick a rookie, but at the begging I'd pick Presti first.

Bluke

In the interests of objectivity I ask all posters who advocate the selection of presti to confirm whether he is in their teams or not.

So is he in your team Q?

I'm not looking for problems with your advice Q, the problem is plain as day if you choose to look closely and interpret the data available to us DTers.

Perhaps the solution is not for me to understand you (I do FYI) but for you to understand me.

Below are some simple comparisons, I started the season with maguire and silvagni on the pine. I downsized them to Webberley and Strijk, in short I have had bench cover for the entirety of the season. Combined those four players earnt my team $605,000.

If I had presti in my team from round one, he would have missed 6 out of 18 games and lost my team $55,000.

Selecting him round 1 would have to be the dumbest move a DTer could make. I can understand selecting him in round 16 - 22 when earning cash for upgrades isnt as important and bench cover is. But it is pure madness telling people he is a handy pickup round 1 as you so eloquently did.

QuoteOf course in mid-season you might pick a rookie, but at the begging I'd pick Presti first.

Maguire: 13 games (from rd 1)
Starting value: 101,700
Trade out value: 286,600
Profit: $184,900

Silvagni: 13 games (debut rd 1)
Starting value: 77,800
Trade out value: 228,800
Profit: $151,000

Webberley: 10 games (debut rd 7)
Starting value: 89,500
Current value: 210,400
Profit: $120,000

Strijk: 7 games (debut rd 13)
Starting value: 77,800
Current value: 226,900
Profit: $149,100

Presti: 12 games (from rd 1)
Starting value: 145,000
Current value: 89,900
Loss: $55,100

Cheers
