People are too harsh on Gibbs, Fraser and Deledio!

Gibbs = very young
Fraser = 10 years trying in a role he wasn't suite to
Deledio = Has been great the last couple

gibbs gunned it in his first year

want soft - can't go past jack watts

Master Q

He's not that soft - plus, you can't deny he is a B+ player  :-\

SCADDICT

Gibbs still looks too skinny for a midfielder to me. But I think there are way softer players then him going around.

its fairly common for lower picks to be better than the high ones in any sport... questionably the worst drafting decision ever was Detroit Pistons had pick number 2 in the draft that sported Lebron James Carmelo Anthony Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade in the top 5 selections and they got Darko the spud Milicic... ever heard of him :P averages about 3 points a game

I remember that!!! That was one of the biggest spud picks in arguably the best ever modern day draft ;D.

hehe yeah thats when they were contending for titles too won a nba finals and lost one made the conference final 4 staright years... got it in some deal for grant hill i think but flower me that is the absolute worst pick i can think of with 4 out 5 of those picks being guns at pick 2 that will get a general manager fired in a heartbeat

Maybe Gibbs should go to Europe for a winter and test his skills of being the best downhill skiier the AFL currently has to offer.

Softest #1 would have to be when Freo traded the #1 pick for Trent Croad.  The Hawks went on to pick Luke Hodge with that pick.

**We gave up picks #1, #20 and #36 and got Luke McPharlin and Troy Simmonds (that was via on-trading of a pick and Daneil Bandy).  Hawthorn then used pick #36 to draft Sam Mitchell.**

Then we traded Craod back to Hawthorn for pick #10 (Ryley Dunn anyone?)

2001 was one of the strongest drafts EVER. - Hodge, Ball, Judd, Hale, Bartel, NDS, James Kelly, Stevie J, Mitchell, Joey, GAJ (father/son rule), Swan, LRT, Campbell Brown

John Hutton would prob be another choice.  #1 pick back in '91 and played a total of 36 games with 3 clubs for 70 goals (including 2 hauls of 8)
