It is worth noting that he is (as you would expect) a long way of returning to anything like his best. Against the Pies on the weekend he barely ran outside 50 which is usually his strength, outrunning his opponent all over the place.

My warning is don't get too excited, he needs a good week or two to proved he is back, personally I think at best he is a SC trade in option in 2-3 weeks, certaintly not next week.

Have to agree with nearly all of the comments.
Play a waiting game for a couple of weeks, watch his form & watch his price drop, & then if you can & warrants the trade jump on the wagon just in time for the finals.

Definitely way too early to pick Roo up yet. He needs to score decent first

All quite pessimistic (but possibly accurate) responses. Does any1 think he may score a few goals and get 100+ this weekend against the hawkers?

i would be very concerned about bringing roo back in. watched him live on saturday, he has none of that explosive pace he is renowned for.

tread very carefully

It is possible, however Gilham and/or Stratton have been in great defensive form and Gibson has recovered better than Roo with the same injury and could also do the job. I've kinda go my Hawks supporter hat on here but I don't think he will have the impact he would normally have when you consider his fitness matched with a defence in good form.

yeah i think he's a few weeks off at best. even if he costs you high 400s by then, it's still worth waiting to see if he can get back to his best this year.

i remember tearing my hammy off the bone playing school footy, missing 12 weeks too and i was never confident for the rest of the year (clearly comparing myself to an afl athelete in case anyone was wondering).
