BEST THING TO DO WITH RAINES???

as many people do i have raines in my team. i have petrenko on the bench and im thinking of having him in for cover until raines comes back... what are everyones thoughts on this situation as im sure almost 3/4 of the comp has him...

That is great thinking especially how valuable trades become later.
Anywhere past 4 weeks though eg IF he struggles with recovery/rehab you'd have to seriously think about trading him or taking the extra 2-3 weeks hit that he won't be appreciating his value for you.

It's also going to hinge on who your other benchie is eg is he a broughton(currently unknown when he'll be put it, no doubt he will at some stage) or if he's a Cheney a guareenteed(well R2 anyway) starter.

Can you really risk Raines on the bench, with another non playing player? With risk of exposure if someone gets injured in your starters? It's 22 rounds mate hope Raines is worth it for ya in the long run.

i have raines as my 6th, hill 7th and petrenko 8th. i cant see hill getting dropped and his scores will improve.. so im going to play petrenko for raines and hope he comes back within the 4weeks.  if he doesnt and petrenko and hill r still firing i might sell raines for another rookie and use the cash elsewhere

What about a side trade to petterd he was sick before he got injured i think it was last season and he came straight out and scored 93 on the weekend. yeh i have petrenko and broughton sittin out atm. waiting for raines to recover with just petrenko atm may prove too risky...

I'll keep Raines for now as well. I had Hill as my 7th back man for Round 1 with Petrenko & Broughton on the bench.

This week I'll bring in Petrenko & hopefully Broughton will be named & he'll be my emergency. If it doesn't pan out like that I may be forced to use a trade already which I won't be happy about but might be forced to do.

The best thing to do with Raines is :

Go and have a beer with him and talk about his comeback in R5.

Forget the trading! Most of us have guys like Petrenko, Suban, Broughton and Cheney on our benches. That's enough cover for the 3 games you'd think.

When Raines returns, he is locked in for every game for the rest of the year ( albeit injury ). Can you say the same thing for the guys you are thinking of replacing him with?

I have raines, but am seriously considering trading as I have a spare 150,000.  This could mean I could get any defender under 340,000. Im thinking either Pettard, Mcleod, Harding, Macdonald. Houlihan.

I have Sauban and Murphy on the bench.
