You know Fletch, I bet there are some Collingwood supporters who are hoping that Carlton make the finals, just so that they can watch them get booted out in the first round again ;D

You're right, I'm pretty happy as long as Carlton don't win a final. How long has it been fellas?

SCADDICT

All you Knights bashers, take a deep breath, open your eyes and remember we've got a crap list(what is Laycock still doing there?)

SCADDICT

I'ts such a ignorant and lazy solution to just sack the coach. Its the call of the bogan, the unloyal supporter.

It is Matthew Knights FAULT that Laycock is still there. It is Matthew Knights responsibility to build a list. To say that he isn't to blame because of the lack of quality players is faulty logic.

Yes and no Ossie. Whilst this is Knights 3rd season, and he has had a chance to form some of the list by now, he has given Laycock a chance, but unfortunately due to injuries he has not performed. There are always going to be wrong decisions here and there (ie. Williams - worst decision). I think there is potential in this list, but as SCADDICT says sacking the coach is a lazy solution to fixing the problem. Look at how many coaches the Tigers have been through only to get absolutely nowhere!!

The list needs to be worked on, but faith and trust in the coach will go a long way to building the players confidence, rather than just chucking them out when they lose 4 in a row. I don't want our team following the lead of the Tigers etc.

I generally agree that perserverence is best, but Knights seems to be stubborn to the point of detriment with his game plan. Perhaps his time at Richmond is a big negative.

Also, Knights has not shown faith in a heap of his players (constant in-and-outs) why should we the people give him the same faith?

Good point, had not thought much about that. I'm sure there have been reason for those ins and outs? Perhaps discipline etc. Still don't think it is the right move though.

They just renewed his contract for another 2 years, so, right, wrong or indifferent he's coaching Essendon next year.
And Fletch, why are you even listening to Collingwood supporters? They hate Essendon.
The ONLY reason they should sack Knightsy is if the players refused to play for him.
It's well documented that there is a groundswell of anti-Knights sentiment at the club. They would be better served to find out who is causing this and either sack HIM/HER or ban them from the club. If they sacked Knights, what if these backroom boys don't like his replacement either?
The AFL is super competative, if you want to succeed you all have to pull in the same direction. Your job is to go to every game and yell your guts out.

Mark Williams was contraced until the end of next year, and Essendon are a much richer club that Port Adelaide.

The players aren't playing for him. Or if they are, they are doing are crap job at it.

I'm under no illusions, I'm Collingwood's harshest critic, but I harshly critique everybody else also!
