first off bunyips.. i agreed to your post because melbourne are now a decent side...

4 losses in a row....

he has made michael hurley a confused player.. yeah were short on defenders but someone that young needs to develop into a position and not swap every week....

he has dropped prismall one of our top midfielders an amount of times i am not sure of now because it's been so many..

yeah we have alot of inexperience... but we have heaps of experience aswel..

i don't know what his doing.. he doesn't know what his doing.. my dog doesn't know what his doingg..

to lose to bottom side like that at home.. is just horrible... ( used that coz i could have gone on swearing)

i made a post a few months back... and i back that....

he better not make fletch go..

try and keep some players..

bring in some mids..

oh and first bring in

HH calm down!! This is a long term project with Knights. We will be ok. Everybody was wrapped last year when he got them to the finals, now we're so quick to jump on his back when things have a turn for the worse.

Remember Geelong in 2005 - Prelim, then don't make the 8, then premiers in 2007. Hawthorn in 2008, then don't make the 8 in 09' now look at them, their tails are up and I wouldn't want to face them in the finals...

Give it time HH, patience. Yes we have to do some serious recruiting, we need to get that right blend of experience. As the boys are lacking confidence, their inexperience means that they struggle to get themselves out of this hole. They will learn though!!

It would be a waste to rid Knights now (only confuse the players even more) and get GOD. Yes there has been some strange decisions made this year (ie. Prismall) but he's obviously lacking some discipline etc. Prismall is still young as well.

Bombers in 2012 will be an awesome side.

Pretty sure Fletch is signing on for another year. But at his age, we're lucky he's still playing!!!

We need to draft well and trade smart this off season to bring in some seasoned heads to actually help the team out.

I must admit I am surprised by tonights result. After making the finals last year everyone would have been excited about this year. It hasn't worked out, there's a few reasons that have been well documented.
Just remember this, Geelong are by far the oldest team in the league according to the age profile in the sun on Friday, 27.6 yrs. ave age. Essendon are one of the youngest 23.5. (West Coast 23.1).
I realize that this is a bit over simplistic but 3 years ago when Geelong won in 2007 their average age would have been about 24.5, which is what Essendons will be next year.
That stat may mean nothing, or it could mean the Dons are about to open their "window".
As helly would say....keep the faith.

not much of a stats man but that seems veerrryyyyyy interesting

Long term project? I'd like some of the drugs Fletch74 is on.

Next year will be his 4th and he has managed to assemble possibly the worst list in the league. After 3 years this is his fault, no-one elses.

So if you are going to give him another 3 years that will be 6 years on a game plan with no plan b, no idea how to defend and no idea how to stop an onslaught.

Personally I hope he stays, although I'd prefer an interstate team to gain the next 3 wooden spoons.

I see your point Cruise, but probably what I meant is that after losing some valuable experience in the past few years, the project has to begin again with the youngsters that are playing now. I agree that have been some poor recruitiing with Williams etc, but no teams ever have a perfect recruiting record, the Pies included.

The only reason I say keep him is because it is a young list, I'm not saying they'll win the flag next year like the Cats or Hawks did, but they will improve from this experience. I just don't want the Bomber fans to have too higher expectations like the Tiger fans and begin to eat their own. We've beaten the Saits, Bulldogs and the Hawks this year. Does that count for anything? People have short memories...

It only takes a couple of bad losses to forget about the good wins. Essendon are not winning games because they have a young list and fade later in the season. It has nothing to do with fitness, take note what Harvs said about Freo today.

Also Essendon beat Hawthorn & Bulldogs when they were down & almost out. One of the better wins was against Carlton when they were in good form.

I'd like to see Essendon beat Carlton again plz.

Well, it's happened something like 7 times in a row.

Fletch74

I'd like to see them beat the Pies like Anzac Day 2009 ;D
