Unfortunately it seems the Dons are done for the year. I wouldn't imagine sacking Matty Knights won't do much though, just have a crap list. Very confusing time to be a bomber supporter! Where to now?

BratPack

I barrack for Essendon

Knights has to go, it's now beyond a joke, but at the same time I don't think anyone else can do much better. We're basically Richmond of last year now.

Inexperience guys, be patient... Geelong 2006, Hawks 2009. Things will improve. the bombers in 2012 will be an awesome side.

Justin Bieber

Yep. Gonna take a few more years. AT least we can do this year is win a few games and avoid the spoon :P.

Would like to say give Knights one more year at the helm before the sack. Give him some time with the inexperienced list.

This is faulty logic, at one point all teams have been a rabble, but not all recover. Pointing out the (very) few that did does not mean Essendon will do the same. Richmond and Fremantle have been poor for decades (Freo having a good year this year, but still).

No draft picks on offer... poor recruiting (Williams?!)... I'm not sure when the Bombers will play finals next

Justin Bieber

Recruiting Williams was a mistake. You recruit him for a reason. Since he is not getting a game, it was a waste. Would of rather kept Lloyd for another year and led the way for Neagle and Gumby. They don't have much leaders up forward except for Ryder and Hille occasionally going up there.

I agree about keeping Lloyd for another 12 months. And guess whose push it was to get rid of him?????

Yet another good decision from M.Knights.

Lloyd said on TV last night that he WAS offered a contract

ossie85

Yeah, but they suggested he may spend time in the VFL (I think from memory)

Justin Bieber

Knights didn't really want him staying at the club either. He prolonged contract discussions and probably only offered him after supporters got to him.

Lloyd by then realised he wasn't wanted by Knights for his future plans :'(.

He couldn't come out against Knights. Looks bad for the club and gets Knights on the wrong side with the players ;).

or.....just maybe he's telling the truth :)

I think M.Williams can be good for us, he’s had an ankle problem that has required surgery since we signed him â€" once that is all fixed up I reckon he can do some damage for us next year!
