Not really Fletch (God, I loved those movies).

From what I can see, all teams have 3 byes spread over the season. The double games don't affect that, just that the need to squeeze the extra rounds in somewhere.

The are taking a couple of rounds and playing them as one-off midweek fixtures during the season.

It is worthwhile printing out the full fixture if you can get your hands on it and then you can look at the doubles and byes coming up.

It is far from straight forward, as we can see this round with Gold Coast having their 2nd bye already.

Seriously? Double points. This is a strange fantasy game.

BlueStorm

Double points only in the sense they will play twice in a week - same as the EPL, always have to be aware of mid week fixtures.

It is by far the rudimentary of systems as far as Fantasy Football goes, they buy the 'lite' version of the software from the EPL comp, so doesn't have all the same features.

The key to A League is to watch for double fixtures, byes (this year) and try and have a full playing squad to help with bye coverage and increase in team value.

Much harder than nearly any other sport to actually know who will take the filed each week, so keep an eye/ear out on Thurs & Fri for what info you can glean. FoxSports is as good as any site for updated news

Warning - In Round 6, the 'double' games start.

Each week, 2 teams play 2 games - Wellington & Victory the 1st week.
Need to start thinking about bringing in some more players from these teams to take advantage of double points!

Obviously the two teams will change each week, so have a think about it when you are planning - in many of those weeks, could well be worth taking a 3 or 6 point deduction to load your team.

Have to think smart about it though. No point in having a defender play 2 games if he concedes 2 goals a game.

This, combined with watching out for future byes, will go a long way to separating the wheat from the chaff.
Wheat from chaff lol  ;D

Lol i was laughing because it was funny never heard that expression. Keep them coming.

BlueStorm

Hello - nothing wrong with trading in this game. Nothing like SC with your limited trades, here you fall behind if you are not doing at least one trade most weeks. With so few points on offer, you need to be on the form players.

Rob - Problem is I speak in so many of these sayings, half the time I don't know if they are new/old/ or I just made them up  :P Will do what I can to keep you amused...

And in breaking news - Nick Ward has signed with Wellington.

You cannot imagine how happy that makes me. Easily the biggest Goat on the Victory list, and he can't leave quick enough.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out Nicky!

On the negative side, makes the money I put on Wellington for the title look a little shaky now. The guy is bad enough to bring down those around him...

Now he has gone from Perth (nice and sunny), via Melbourne, to Wellington, where it is cold enough to freeze the balls of a brass monkey.

Next stop Siberia....

a better one than this is 'Don't let the door hit you in the vagina on the way out'

BlueStorm

I didn't want to be cruel to women, I have more respect than that for them, and waaaay less for Ward.

He can take his nancy head band and head south-east. Good riddance. The way he sends in crosses, they'd better watch out in Auckland!

Now we have to start on Tommy PondleHack....
