Otten finished runner-up in the NAB Rising Star last season, however disaster struck in December injuring his knee, sidelining him for the the entire 2010.  He played in every game in 2009 and became an integral member of the Crows' back-line, playing the third most minutes of any player at the club.  His efficiency was average for an AFL defender, but it was his ability to read the play in the air which stood out, ranking No.1 at Adelaide for marks from opposition kicks.  He conceded the third most goals, conceding tow or more in four games, playing on the likes of Steve Johnson, Matthew Bate and Mitch Morton.  He ranked in the top 10 at the club for disposals, handballs, mars, uncontested possessions and rebound 50's.  Otten ranked second for spoils and third for ground-ball gets and tackles in the defensive 50.

i will be locking in swan/montagna next year then i will look at my backs :)

The first thing I normally do is pick one gun from each line

DEF: Goddard
MID: Bartel
RUCK: SANDI
FWD: ROO

Then work out the rest of the team from there.

roo boys!

i pick 1 gun, 2 prem then work out the rest. probably 3 rookies per position.

PS 1 gun for Ruck, 1 premium, 2 rookies.

I usually play at least 4 or 5 rookies on field around the grounds. 1 in the forwards, 1 down back and 2 or 3 in the midfield. Gives me some cash to play around with then. 2 Keeper rucks though.

Otten can definately be a 5th or 6th back in my strategy.

bundyboy

ok - otten in...

and definatelhy 2 solid rucks to start...just can't piss around with rucks when you only have 2...

swan i think my starting captain, and let's work from there....but think there are going to be plenty of rookies....

Justin Bieber

That's why next year might be another Gun/Rookie strategy.

elephants

i will start two in the mids one in the forward and one down back. hard to say atm with little knowledge of the quality of the draft.
