nice research Q you are so cool :P ;)
Wrong thread? ;D

What if Swallow or Bennell go first? Sidestep them?
Haha lol Zz, I nominate you for tool of the week. :D

I won't be HP, I don't look into those sorts of stats, if those two are picked first then still get them! They will still be the same person no matter when they get picked.
:-[ ::)

roo boys!

bundyboy, I reckon it would be better for the rookies at GC becuase most of the team would be rookies so the only need 1 good game to really cement their spot in the team.

Only 18 top 5 draft picks have tasted premiership glory and only 3 number 1's have lifted the cup.

Maybe we should be looking at rookies outside the 1st round picks?
good research, but useless in this concept
DT only lasts for a year and has no real affect on the AFL finals
bastinac, martin, trengove, scully all high draft picks in teams that will go no where near to winning a premiership this year, but that doesnt mean theyve not had fantastic years in DT

rocca

Sam Day, Harley Bennell, Dion Prestia, Tom Liberatore are who I am currently thinking of getting in my side.. although Sam Day has heaps of talent he may do a Jack Watts and take ages to develop.. but dont all big men??

elephants

yeah okay rocca good thinking.

bundyboy

yep..Day has great raps, but definately sounds like a Watts to me.

no key position player rookies for me

yeh i think ben griffiths showed us this year how good kpp rookies are with a few 20s in his scores and the ability to go down from a rookie price

Yeah, I will try to steer clear of KPP rookies as much as possible.

Matera at GC, son of Wally.
Quoted by Scott Clayton (GC list manager) as saying "knows which blade of grass the ball is going to land on".. "great anticipation".."elusive".
Is ready to play straight away like "D. Swallow, inside, tough, big enough to go" "Swallow now has had  2 pre seasons, which is what it takes to get a young body AFL ready".

elephants

swallow is a lock and matera maybe worth a look. i assume he is a midfielder?

browny_wce

matera hopefully a forward, got too many rookie mids locked already

Justin Bieber

Hopefully next year one of my early rookie choices goes unnoticed :D. This year had Nason booked in late last year. Come a week before round 1, everybody jumps on him ::).

With the Bye coming in, might get in a few more rookies to fill the benches + on field. Then get durable guys on field from the start + some up and comers. Mids will almost be stacked like this year. Hopefully Matera is named up forward to give us some options :).
