cahill not a striker
mcdonald shoul be in the squad as a striker
110% agree Proven goalscorer might not of done it for his country but verbeek had to fit him in kennedy plays in japan not the best of leagues may aswell of played Thompson or allsopp, instead of kennedy. In Aus 17-20's scored 29 goals from 41 apps and has scored in Uefa Champions league

McDonald i guess Verbeek thinks can't keep it up for the National team. Had a great club record when playing in the scotish leagues (motherwell than Celtic). But how did kennedy get the nod ahead of him? Has a good national record but to leave out probably the best Australian striker.

Cahill is more of a shadow striker (sneaks into for corners and free kicks).

No probably's about it as a recognised striker he is the best Australia has to choose from, maybe verbeek went for kennedy for the religous factor because he looks like jesus

I reckon they'll play Holman upfront. With Cahill, Bresciano, and Emerton behind them. Thus we'll have 3-5-2 formation because i don't know if we have anyone good enough to replace Moore down back??

Moore is what 87 years old with is fake scottish accent, we need to blood younger players as our team is one of the oldest in the WC

Maybe i hate moore and i am a bit biased because he played for the Huns and i am celtic supporter!

well who else..

we can not win with a lone striker.. he needs help...

Fletch74

On the WC Show last night, they were talking of putting either Kennedy or Holman up front alone with Cahill just behind them, along with Bresciano and Emerton out wide. They also mentioned that Beauchamp will most likely replace Moore. The formation will be 4-5-1 more than likely.

Good opportunity here Rob for Beauchamp to replace Moore. HH, the help will come from Cahill's runs along with Bresciano and Emerton attacks down the wings. There will be a lot of fwd pressure.

Did anyone see David Villa's goal for Spain last night?

4-5-1 will work well if Kennedy hold's the ball up and either plays it out wide to Bresciano or Emerton out wide and they cross it in or plays it back to the 2 attacking mids, or defensove mid to have a shot.

Will the 5 be in a V shape?

Fletch74

I suspect the 5 midfielders will be Culina and Valeri as defensive mids, with Cahill sitting just behind Kennedy/Holman with the other 2 out wide. The shape won't be in the form of a V as the 2 defensive mids will be behind Cahill.

chrisuzz

yeh i hought there would be two attacking mids and onedefensive mid

Justin Bieber

2 defensive, 2 wingers and 1 attacking?
