What were your feelings after the draw? Angry, Sad? Was a great game though...

Laughing ;D ;D ;D. First draw in a long time.

That and Melbourne finally got some points of the Pies which they deserved :).

Didn't the Roos draw with Sydney a few years back?

Pretty sure the Dogs had a draw last year...

Feelings are two fold;
1.  Angry as we should have blown them away.  22 behinds on top of 17 earlier in the season is just not good enough  >:(.
2. Relived to have gotten some points.  Melb did play well, they would feel gutted...

Now, the big question.   Should Frazer give it away (heart not in it)? Or is he just not match fit yet?

Fraser doesn't look right does he? Reckon he might be finished. Lockyer, all though he got a lot of the ball, also looked out of sorts.

Frasier does not look right at all, he plays better when allowed to roam free. Jolly should have more of the ruck. But this game was for a few of the VFL youngsters to step back up into AFL status. Barram did ok, a few clangers but still good. I already mentioned Dicks comeback.

Tarkyn got to step up again and boy did that man lay some brilliant tackles, was beautiful to watch. Cloke also made some heavy grabs with total upper body strength.

Unfortunately I did not see the Pies man up 1 on 1 at all during the entire game. This is where Melb were able to give loose men the opportunity to take it out wide on the wing then head back into the corridor and some fast handballs then a nice kick into the 50. This happened on numerous occassions during the game.

As for the goals well, 22 freaking behinds is just NOT acceptable. An extremely wasted effort of getting it into the 50 for shot on goal. The back line did not stand up and with Maxy out in the end of the second quarter we were down one man in defense. Still i did love how the midfield produced alot of run and carry to set up what SHOULD have been some easy goals.

Very dissapointing.

Ruckus

I believe Fraser and Jolly have not worked it out yet. If one of them is forward, i believe the other should play a kick behind the ball. Against melbourne, when Fraser was playing forward he should have been contesting the rucks in the forward 50. At one stage Jolly (not overly fit) came into the forward 50 to take the ruck. Melbourne won the ball and Jamar ran the length of the ground to receive it in their goal square. Jolly should have left it to Fras and picked up Jamar on the way through.

Fraser should be dropped for Wood.

Jamar was on his own alot

Ruckus

Also MissPies, i agree with the lack of one on one. The Pies 'rolling press' has worked well in some games but not others. Still a work in progress. Too  many times magpies were left guarding space while the D's led up for short passes (which they executed well).

As for Barham, a little disapointing.  Brought into the side to tag Davey, he sometimes forgot what he was doing. I do like him. Has a fair dinkum crack. Needs to improve skills and decision making though. dont think he is near our best 22.

Ruckus

rresbr, i agree that wood needs some more games. but maybe give Jolly a rest after the sydney game for a couple of weeks. give fraser a couple weeks as #1 ruckman to get his touch back. Last year Fraser was averaging as many possessions as he and Jolly combined this year (almost).
As for Wood, a great competitor! Give him a job and he'll do it. Would have nullified Jamars impact last week.

I guess we just wait and see the which 22 line up after this weekends rest. By the way I must say Toovey has very much earned his place ;)

Yep, and Reid...

BUT why the hell do they even consider playing Barham.  He has no idea what he is supposed to be doing and the only thing he does well is turn the ball over (the few times he actully gets a touch).
