yeh so wuld be good to put someone as VC in the first week then see how he goes in score range then u can either take off ur C on ur captain player during the partial lockout
pity all the good captain options are playing together in the 2nd week in ablett, bartel, chapman, montagna, goddard and swan

You cant not select a captain.  It wont let you un-select the captain.  You have to chose a player that isnt playing and put him on the field and name him captain.  Then have your EMG cover his score. 

Example:

You choose Hodge in week 1 as your VC and he racks up 150.  Put Shuey on the field and GAJ on the bench as an EMG.  Put the C on Shuey.  That way he gets 0, you get GAJ's score as replacement for Shuey and you get Hodgey's 150 score as your captain.

how about if ur emergency plays in the first week, if he was playing, but isnt, would u still be able to swap him?

No, any player from the 10 teams involved in week 1 become locked on Friday evening and remain locked for the rest of the round.

So just looking at that, my example wouldn't work cos the Eagles are playing week 1.   Change Shuey with Phil Davis and GAJ with Chappy and the example works :)
