I'm pretty sure I've got it right so here's an example to those still unsure.
W1
Hodge VC
Currie C
Sandilands E

W2
Swan C
Hodge VC
Sandilands E

I would do it differently.

W1
Hodge VC
Currie C
Sandilands E

W2 (if you want Hodge's score)
Hodge VC
Currie C
Sandilands E

No change as Currie isn't playing and therefore no captain, so Hodge's score as VC will be doubled.

W2 (if you dont want Hodge's Score)
Hodge VC
Swan C
Sandilands E (replaces Currie's score)

yeah of course W2 is conditional of Hodges score. But what if Hodge scores say... 120. Do I roll the dice on Swan? God I love dream team.

There is a loop hole in this weeks partial lockout split round thingy... you might be confused the first time you read it but i guarantee you will understand it. Here we go...

Put 'Vice Captain' on the player you want this week to have a crack at a good score for you. It can only be a player who is playing in THIS week of the split round (Hawthorn, Essendon, Carlton, Fremantle, Brisbane, Richmond, Kangaroos, Port, West Coast or the Bulldogs)

Do not put 'Captain' on any player who is playing this week (unless you really want them!). Place your 'C' on a reliable back up who will play NEXT week (Ablett, Bartel, Swan etc.) just in case your 'VC' doesnt play.

Now this is the loop hole part. After the first week of the Split round, assess if you are happy with the score that your 'VC' got you.
If you are not happy with the score, simply keep the 'C' on the player that you chose the week before.
However, if you are happy with your 'VC's score, make sure to put the 'C' on any player who you know will not be playing that week (someone on your bench or someone who is injured). The result of this will be that your 'C' wont play that week and therefore get a 0. This means that your 'VC' will be the player who's score is doubled! YAY

By the end of the split round, you will either be laughing because you made the right call, or kick yourself for being too greedy.

It will work because i put the 'VC' on Andrew Carrazzo in round 1 and was very happy with the 131 that he got. Therefore I didn’t need to use anyone else for my 'C' and played the round without a “C” and therefore Carrazzo had 262. If I wanted to risk it… whoever I then gave the 'C' too â€" just needed to score anything above  131. I made the right call.

Personally, I would be happy enough with 110+ from my 'VC' not to take a stab. Good Luck boys (and girls...?)

Nice post Vman. It's great that you took the time. Just a shame that it's been spoken about to death this week already.

once the captain is selected u cant change it regardless what week he plays and since u cant unselect a captain there is nothing to be gained ::)

You can change the captain if he is playing in the second week, as long as the change is to another player that is playing in the second week.

My team:

DEF: Hodge, Goddard, Waters, Duffield, Harbrow, Shaw, Maguire
        Webberley, Heath

MID: Swan, Montagna, Bartel, Barlow, Watson, Howlett
         Gysberts, Shuey

RUC: Sandilands, Cox
         Warnock, Roughead

FWD: Chapman, Pavlich, Giansiracusa, Brown, Hall, Podsiadly, Franklin
          Hitchcock, Davis

6 trades left and $55,800 in the bank

First, I want to do the trades: either Webberley/Davis downgrade to Henderson, Howlett to ROK (swap with Chapman in the FWDs).

Then, how to use the R13 loop hole on my team?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :-\

Slap

Put the VC on a player on the first week and C on a player playing the following week.  If your VC scores a very good score (eg.130), then after the first week lockout, put your C on Brown.  Since he is not playing in week 2, his captain score won't count and your VC score will.  That would mean placing hitchcock as an emergency to cover Brown on the field.

dcmagadia21

who will i downgrade to henderson: davis or webberley??

dcmagadia21

so, my team for week 1 will look like:

DEF: Hodge (VC), Goddard, Waters, Duffield, Harbrow, Shaw, Maguire
        Webberley (E), Heath

MID: Swan, Montagna, Bartel, Barlow, Watson, Howlett
         Gysberts (E), Shuey

RUC: Sandilands, Cox
         Warnock, Roughead

FWD: Chapman, Pavlich, Giansiracusa, Brown (C), Hall, Podsiadly, Franklin
          Hitchcock (E), Davis

but could my team be like this because brown is playing week 1 so if i put him as C then i can't change it the week after. but i want to change my captain if hodgey didn't score that well:

DEF: Hodge (VC), Goddard, Waters, Duffield, Harbrow, Shaw, Maguire
        Webberley (E), Heath

MID: Swan (C), Montagna, Bartel, Barlow, Watson, Howlett
         Gysberts (E), Shuey

RUC: Sandilands, Cox
         Warnock, Roughead

FWD: Chapman, Pavlich, Giansiracusa, Brown, Hall, Podsiadly, Franklin
          Hitchcock (E), Davis

so if i don't want hodgey's captain score then i'll just put the captain to swan, who i will think will score more than hodgey.

thoughts??

Descent

im all for taking a punt, and this week that punt will be beau waters VC

hey guys still not too sure how the split round works in regard to captaincy. say i name a vice captain [hodge] who is playing this week and a captain [gaj]who is playing next week and have them both on the field.Depending on hodgy's score, would i then have to put gaj on the bench and a non player on the field with a [ c ] Or could i be able to just move the [ c ] to say, god, and still have gaj on the field. i cant decide between the three for capt, so i guess what i'm basically asking is, if you have named a capt on the field that is not playing before the split round, can you change it after, or is the C locked in even though he has not played ?

valkorum

There is plenty of threads around about this, but basically....

If you choose Hodge as you VC then select GAJ/Goddard as your C you can change your C next week.  If Hodge rips it up and you want his score as C then you put GAJ/Goddard to the bench and then put on a non playing player (has to be from a team that is playing in the second week) and put the C on them.  If your VC stinks it up then just select your C as normal from the remaining available players.

dcmagadia21

So will the loophole work in this team now?

DEF: Hodge (VC), Waters, Duffield, Harbrow, Shaw, Maguire, Heath (C)
        Webberley, Goddard (E)

MID: Swan, Montagna, Bartel, Barlow, Watson, Howlett
         Gysberts (E), Shuey

RUC: Sandilands, Cox
         Warnock, Roughead

FWD: Chapman, Pavlich, Giansiracusa, Brown, Hall, Podsiadly, Franklin
          Hitchcock (E), Davis

which to Swan for week 2 if hodgey did crap
