Are Geelong actually better this year than last? Impressive as last night was, and no disrespect to Essendon because I think they are a very good side and I was surprised by last nights result, I can't help wondering how Geelong would have gone against the other top 4 teams.
This is the first time since we "rested" some players after last seasons game against the Saints that Geelongs depth has been tested. The young players (Except for Pods) where fairly quiet, I think it was our second tier players like Wojo, Hunt Varcoe that stepped up to bat.
Having said that, a pretty good effort.

I believe they are, Playing great

We have a rest this week then play the Saints. What a game that should be

reesbr

Cracker. Cats to win though. Saints will be tough when Riewoldt comes back

bunyip

Yer, the fact that they are winning without him is a bit scary

reesbr

Yeah over at Freo as well..

Justin Bieber

Varcoe was on fire last night. Remember he got himself cornered and split two bomber players and got through.

bunyip

Best game he ever played by a long way

MissPiesFF

FC is comparing Varcoe to JPOD. bad call. JPOD I feel could even be up for grabs in the next capt pick for Cats.

Gablett will be next captain.....of Gold Coast :(

Justin Bieber

Selwood will be next captain.....of Greater Western Sydney :P

Any way you want to look at it, this is going to be a CLASSIC finals series. Geelong, St.Kilda, Doggies, Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon and Hawthorn ALL could be involved. If Freo can finish in the top 4 they could be a real wild card if they get some home finals. Sydney and the Roos notwithstanding, It's shaping up to be one of the best ever seasons.
