Master Q

If they really wanted to tackle NRL, why don't they start a State of Origin between Victoria and South Australia? Possibly between Split Round or maybe ever a rest round with a Monday Night Game? Or they could make a Tri-State Cup, Vic v SA v WA? Thoughts?

Justin Bieber

Don't they usually have the Whitten's Legends game around this time?

Victoria would dominate if it was split up into states.

CFC 1979

been done Q

we won't see state of origin again me thinks

Last time it happened regularly, the players didn't want to play and nobody showed up.

My ideal is this:

Group A: Victoria City, Victoria Country, SA, WA
Group B: Qld, NSW/ACT, Tas, NT

That Was Last Time. I like Group A but not B.

No it wasn't, last time it was Victoria, SA, WA and the 'Allies'

reesbr

afl have nearly already killed NRL by taking some of their best players

Justin Bieber

It's not serious but its the closest thing there is to State of Origin in the AFL ;D.

Ossie I wasn't talking about that, It was about the players...

In that case, the players would be less likely to want to play it regularly now - with an increased work load

Hence a Week rest, mate read all of it.

A weeks rest wouldn't stop injuries during the games, clubs would hate it. Look at Josh Fraser, injured himself in the Victoria v Dream Team match and hasn't gotten fit since.

Hmmm Ossie. If Josh Fraser Played. Did Fevola Play? What about Lance Franklin?

You're correct Q, not every player got injured in the match! What's your point??

I really want state of origin, just saying it's unlikely to ever happen!
