Upgrade forwards or defence?

Forwards: Chapman, Brown, O'Keefe, Hall, Higgins, Podsiadly, Buddy...
Bench: Fyfe, Relton Roberts

Defence: Goddard, Hodge, Malceski, Enright, Carazzo, Hurn, Maguire...
Bench: Silvagni, Webberley

So which one would you upgrade? My mids are set. And i only have 8 trades left... Im going for overall, not league win...

My options would be... Double trade and upgrade silvagni to waite? Or maguire to duffield?

Or probably upgrade hall to pav? Or goodes?

on first look, I would be happy to keep that for a while, but i see you are going for overall.

In that case, I would try and get Pav (for Hall) to keep pace with the front runners. I can't see Waite or Duff outscoring Pav from here on, although both are a lot cheaper, but if you're going for overall, only the best will do  ;D

Yeah, in past years i wouldve been settled with that and waited for finals... But i am currently coming 47th... So might as well have a crack ;)...

Pavlich is a difficult one... Although he is a champ... I think i might of missed the boat on him...

Pav is a bit expensive at the moment.

Maybe Waite could be a bit of a smokie for ya and give you a leg up on the 46 teams above you.

Im thinking if i do get pavlich for hall, will fyfe be enough cover for the rest of the year? As i said, i only have 8 trades... That would take me to 6...

Then in a few weeks i will be going howlett out for cash... And upgrading hopefully silvagni... So maguire can give me decent cover for the rest of the year. As i dont think they will drop him? That would only leave me with 4 for LTI's...

And i still have natanui in the ruck. But i can live with him...

Also, hall will be a person that not many people in the top 50 would have.. And can kick a bag... So he could help if i kept him too...

I was thinking the same thing regarding Hall and to win it you are going to have to take a risk or two, Hall may be that risk. I think a bit of the decision also depends on what the teams above you don't have.

Depending on your opinion of him Grundy will be juicy $430K or so next week. Someone similar to Troy Chaplin from Port or Birchell from the Hawks could provide that x factor as no-one has them...

Well, if i dont upgrade hall, then i think my forward line is pretty much set...

I would be better off trading nicnat then hall i think...

All my forwards have the potential for huge games... So if they all click in one week, hopefully that will results in a big score...

So only need to upgrade nicnat and maguire probably?

Agree, Maguire and Nic nat should be next to go.

Maguire -> Gilbert/Duffman (prob more options)

and

Nic Nat -> Sandi/Cox (whichever one you don't have).

My main worry about bringing cox in is i dont have any coverage if he goes down with injury... Or goes in early for surgery?

The obvious thing to do is trade pav in no questions asked.

You need points to win this thing.

Maguire to duffield or gilbert doesnt cut it.

Hall to pav will pick you up another 30-35 points a game on average.

Then do a downgrade stanley for warnock for backup and pick up cox all in the next 2 weeks if you have the cash to do it

Then sit, wait assess and then decide to upgrade maguire.

This is risky but I believe to win this you need to take risks and go against the followed path. Life is a risk, thats reality
