WTF did Barry Cable do to be considered on this list?

I also agree with Ossie that maybe Norm Smith should be on this list... and maybe Ron Barassi as well.

There were some great coaches that never won a premiership but got "ordinary" teams into finals.
Billy Goggin coached Geelong and Footscray and I thought he was a great coach.

I don't think anyone beats McHale or Sheedy. I'll go with Sheedy but being biased. Coached for 27 years, turned a bottom side into a top 5 side then a premiership side. Kept regenerating players and never let the team down. Was very tough on players and very professional for his time (80's) in my opinion there is none better.

Sheedy for mine. 27 year's as a coach is absolutely insane. For someone who was able to reinvent himself time and time again and be able to keep up with the changing game for so long was very very good. Premiership were also spread out across his reign and he was a master at being able to get his club into the paper in a positive light.

Not a very good list but out of who you have chosen I would say Matthews

Roos is a very honest coach. He gets a lot out of average players. Finals++, 2 gfs and 1 premiership without a great team more based on game plan
