Hi All,

Have I gone too far? This is my first year playing DT and im hooked. I feel I have done quite well coming up to speed amongst my veteran mates. My downfall is addiction to trades. So far I have maxed out trades since round 3 leaving me with 6. I have done a lot out of necessity due to injuries Riewoldt,Gibson, Seaby etc.

The feedback im after is where do I stop? I keep seeing perfect opportunities to cash cow down a player and upgrade another increasing my team in leaps and bounds but how many should I keep up my sleeve for injuries and should I now stop even if there is a good opportunity just to force myself to avoid any potential pitfalls.

Heres my trading history

OUT Martin ($232,900) IN Judd ($431,800)
OUT Ladson ($221,400) IN Webberley ($89,500)
ROUND 8
OUT Gumbleton ($229,900) IN Chapman ($505,700)
OUT Armitage ($313,900) IN Stevenson ($94,500)
ROUND 7
OUT Hunt ($222,300) IN Bower ($313,100)
OUT Seaby ($219,700) IN Cox ($383,500)
ROUND 6
OUT Pears ($260,900) IN Carrazzo ($383,700)
OUT Scully ($220,100) IN Kayler-Thomson ($77,800)
ROUND 5
OUT Ziebell ($276,100) IN Rockliff ($101,100)
OUT Dangerfield ($244,300) IN Podsiadly ($77,800)
ROUND 4
OUT Gibson ($272,600) IN Goddard ($452,700)
OUT Riewoldt ($445,000) IN O'Keefe ($438,300)
ROUND 3
OUT Tippett ($319,400) IN Brown ($415,800)
OUT Cox ($471,500) IN Seaby ($226,700)

And this is my current team, any feedback would be appreciated:

Other than the ridiculous amounts of trades you've used your team is looking ok. Soon you should downgrade farmer and upgrade maguire, downgrade rockliff and upgrade Hall.

Got a bit too trade happy. 6 trades if far too little. You'll lose interest before the end of the year with not much else to do. Got to even it out. Only times you trade bar injury is before round 3 (tune up your team) and cashing in fully ripe cows (scully was a bit early).

Wasted 2 trades trading Cox Out and In just for about 90k.

Backline is set. Leave it as it is and Bower should be back next few weeks (i think).
6th mid (stevenson) is a bit weak and you forgot to mention Judd is in there. Would put JACK trengove on for him. He should see out the rest of the year.
No more touchng the rucks!!! ;D I can understand if Cox was injured, But should of Kept A Little Faith.
Forwards are set for now.

Thank you so much for the replies. Its GREATLY appreciated.

Yeah I trade out Cox for Seaby (as cox was not in form and about to loose 120K) and was planning on leaving it there but because Seaby got injured and Cox dropped so much in price I jumped back on the bandwagon.

So on your advice even if I have the money to upgrade Trengove to say Montagna as an example I should still avoid trading just to cover injuries?

Your right Ive been having a LOT of fun trading and now its going to be pretty boring not being able to number crunch the next trade.

I agree Scully was too early, one of my first hard lessons. Im assuming I should still go well regardless of lack of trades (pending injuries) as it seems like a pretty solid team to me now but I am still just a newbie to it all.

If you had that much cash, would 1 more trade really hurt? ;)

Well at least you know what not to do next year ;D. Team looks solid though. Should stand well for most of the year unless injuries take over.
