he is not the only option the is still Henry Playfair, Jack Watts, Nick Heyne  and Cameron Stokes. i would go with watts @about 145 k or playfair @ 100k but his is injury prone

"You've never heard of him" is not a good reason to believe he has no job security.  Just means you don't track other clubs' rookies or pay attention to which rookies have been featuring in the emergencies for a few weeks.

"McIntosh, Hale and Petrie will all be back within a month, and two of those could be back next week" is an excellent reason to believe he's got no job security, though.
