ENYGMA

BACKS
Hodge, Goddard, Enright, Malceski, Kennelly, Waters, Hunt
(Silvagni & Maguire)

MIDS
Swan, Bartel, Barlow, Trengrove, Ball, Ablett (C),
(Martin, Shuey)

RUCKS
Sandilands, Nic Nat
(Warnock, Lobbe)

FORWARDS
Gia, ROK, Didak, Brown, Daisy, Pods, Franklin
(Gumby, P Davis)

15 Trades, 58k in the bank. So far i think the non-keepers are Hunt, Kennelly and Nic Nat. Should I wait for the youngsters to peak or catch the Cox/ possibly Hargrave window whilst it's open?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

???

Cicjose

Used too many trades if you complete the Cox and Hargrave trades IMO

Spooners

cicjose you will never EVER get a good overall rank waiting until round 20 to bring premiums in
you lose 200 points a round by putting it off and you cant recover from that

upgrade until you have a set team (7-10 trades) then wait for LTIs
if they dont arise, then from round 16, upgrade players again eg. kennelly, waters, trengrove - solid but not top premium

antonc

Agree with you spooners.
Gotta make trades to keepers in first 6-10 rounds and keep about 10.
Then use 4 more from 14-16 and use last 6 (if no LTI's) in last 6 six rounds for players with low ave (below 80 if you still have them)

ENYGMA

Cheers guys I completely agree about the upgrades to keepers around about now. However, I can't do any straight swaps because I've only got 58k in the bank. I want to upgrade Nic Nat and Hunt but looks like I'm going to have to sell first. What's my plan of attack?

Bluke

Nic Nat should make money again this week with a relatively low B/E of ~55 which gives you a week to decide whether you want to pick up Webberly or Brad Sheppard for Hunt (his B/E is also low at 35 so he will make money as well this week).

I would go Hunt -> Webberly/Sheppard next week.
then
Nic Nat -> Cox

13 Trades at the beginning of round 9 with the ammount of Premiums you have is perfectly acceptable IMO.

Your team is looking REALLY good. Love your forward line, looks fully upgraded to me. Only need to add Grimes/Duffield/Broughton to your defence and Montagna to your midfield and your done for the year.

Well done.

Spooners

agree with bluke except instead of nit nat - cox i'd go martin or trengove to a premium
cox wont be as dominant with nit nat around and there is probably only going to be 20 points per round between them
trengove or martin might get 60+ less than a montagna, hayes, cornes etc

ENYGMA

It is a difficult choice to decide whether the difference between Cox and Naitinui will be greater than Trengove and another premium. I'll sit on my hands for the moment and make my changes next week. Thanks for your help guys, watch this space...

thornz23

i agree with u guys u gotta get premiums in ure team asap and if u can keep 8-10 trades for LTI's u should be fine. with 15 trades left i would say u have heaps for this time of year reli. i agree with bluke in that you should look at a nic nat to cox trade next week and downgrading hunt or maguire would be ure best way of freeing up cash.  Martin can still make 50k or so he just needs one big score so i would wait on upgrading him. trengove should potentially peak next week u would think so might be due for an upgrade and u could possibly just leave martin on ure bench all year

Ok so as round 10 comes to a close, I've still been hitting the 2000s despite some players missing in action through injury and form. Hunt for Webberley was poor in hindsight, probably should have backed the cat, but still it made space for Cox as he replaced Nic Nat. Trengove is the only non keeper in the middle whilst Maguire and Kennelly are the starting backline who should soon be replaced. 13 trades 74k in the bank. Looking at Grimes/ Duffield for defense and Higgins Goodes or Pav in the middle.

ENYGMA

Ok, first decision. Kennelly --> Grimes? (uses all of my 75k in bank). Now here is the toughie... Which 1 of these 3 mids do I trade for jordan gysberts? 1) Trengove 2) Martin 3) Shuey. I think Trengove may have peaked at just under 300, Martin is at 250 now I hope he can make a few more, Shuey is on 130 and is an emergency for the eagles at the moment but once he gets a couple more games he will get into the 200s for sure. NOTE. Trengove currently starts so if I do trade him, that pushes either Gysberts or D. Martin into a starting position. Please help me out with your thoughts.

Spite

Maybe, downgrade trengrove to gysberts and upgrade martin to montagna? It does use all of your savings though I think...

#12
I traded Trengove to Gysberts last week and Kennelly to Grimes.

My plans for after round 14 are to downgrade Silvagni to Strijk, who will now warm the bench with Webberley. Then upgrade Maguire to Kelly, who is only $360,000. This leaves me with $247,500 and D. Martin on the field( valued at $265,000 subject to increase) which equals an estimated $512,500 to spend in midfield. I am currently on 11 trades and after these proposed changes I will have 8 trades after round 15. I'll wait until Martin has peaked, which I believe will be round 16 until I trade him to a premium mid such as Chapman, Montagna or Judd. My aim is to win the mini league, tell me if I am using too many trades before the finals or not. Cheers

ENYGMA

Ok so the Barlow trade is a necessity and a dodged a bullet with Webberley coming back and Silvagni keeping his spot because both Grimes and Maguire are injured. I'm trading Barlow to Montagna (BE 85 compared to Judd's 111 deciding factor) and contemplating upgrading Silvagni to Kelly or perhaps downgrading to Strijk. Hoping in the coming weeks for Martin to be upgraded to Judd and then When Brown, Grimes, Maguire come back from injury I'll be at full strength for the finals with about 8 trades remaining!
