he's 370k, and on the bubble. i am looking at getting in goddard for silvagni next week. after i do that, my backs, mids and rucks are fine for the moment barring injury... my forward line of: rok, pav, franklin, pods (those 4 are fine) and ziebell, tippett and peterson with Fyfe and Roberts on bench.. can upgrade peterson to a player around 420k nxt week... considering trav varcoe - he has score 108 and 95. and has apparently done best pre season he's done, only 22 so could be coming of age year, i know geelong are expecting big things of him. whats everyones thoughts on that trade and on varcoe?

Streisand

Provided he doesn't get suspended, i'm getting him this week in the place of hall.  I had him at the start of the season but had to trade him before SC went live cos of his broken hand.

MissPiesFF

Why would you upgrade Peterson when he is pretty much a guaranteed benchie. Trade some one else.

GDRAGONS

im same as you streisand had him start then he broke his hand i thought he was gonna be a good unique in forward at start of the year but seems now alot of people are trading him in for BBB or others potential breakout year trav varcoe after a good pre season cats just keep getting stronger

Griffo1982

I'm considering bringing him in for Brennan if he's going to be injured for a lengthy period jut not sold on him due to the "Aboriginal goes missing" factor that they all seem to suffer from, but who knows in a winning side he cold be consistant but when Corey comes back in he may not get as many bursts in the center as he has done the last 2 games.
Lots of factors to consider with him i think.

SCADDICT

He relies on kicking goals to score well. Just remember that. I would look elsewhere personally. But he could be a nice unique I guess.

Jugganauts

Hopefully when Corey comes back and Stokes Varcoe wont be kicked out of the side if so Hall to Varcoe

Alex7089

No, just don't see him as a fantasy player. Going well the last couple of weeks but my bet is when Corey comes back his scores will be back down.

SCADDICT

Thats if Corey ever comes back and if  he comes back at full ability. Not looking good by latest reports...

Alex7089

Anybody got any idea when Corey will be back? Was a late pullout and was supposed to be back the next week and just never came back. Similar to Ottens last year

SCADDICT

Injury list says the dreaded 1-2 weeks, i.e absolutely no idea.

Wilkopolis

Never been a huge fan of Varcoe.  Will make you short term cash due to his early scores, but isn't a genuine premium.  I don't think Corey will be a huge threat to his scores (different role & underdone anyway), but Stokes may very well scab some of the goals Varcoe might otherwise kick.

If you have bench coverage for Brennan then I'd wait & upgrade to a definite keeper.  If you have Hall then you might as well wait until he kicks a bag (surely has to happen some time) and recoups a little bit of value.

Ah ok I was just wondering because he is way to cheap and could keep falling

CFC 1979

yes typical geelong 1-2 weeks from balmy

that could mean 10 weeks

definately has a knee injury but maybe geelong are taking the rest approach with Corey as with all senior players

i am actually using him on the field at the moment - thats my issue. i do have fyfe on the reserves who could play in my 22 for peterson though.
