Far too much money on the bench. Downgrade all of them, and upgrade Everitt, O'Bree, Ward, Kreuzer, Solomon and Fevola.

You also need at least one potential captain. You have none ATM (CHad being a possible exception but not as reliable after last season)

Disco

You need to take a few more risks with rookies to get more cash and upgrade to premiums. You have a lot of mid priced players that are old, injury plagued, inconsistent or inexperienced and if they don't raise their standard you will be averaging low scores. Your'e backs are reasonable but check if A.Everitt will play early because of injury. You have Ward, Masten, Morton and Cothin as mids but are only 2nd, 3rd year players. Hasleby and Coughlan have had major knee injuries and O'Bree is getting old. Headland, lucas, Solomon and McPhee are old and injury prone. Fev is great on his day but inconsistent. Need rookies and more premiums in all positions

1. Strategy: Some money on the bench means injury coverage and a way to hoard some trades. Will this work?

2. The captain issue is sound advice - ta.

Strategy Position:
I am going for an anti-mid field reliance and feel that middies are easy to come by but backs and forwards less so.

thanks

agree with first 2 posts, especially in need of 2-3 guns- cox, ablett, bartel

sellar WILL NOT play at all
upgrade obree/ morton- in second yr may  struggle, and had strong first year so will be hard to score as much (and with cotchin and masten in same boat). maybe start rich, bring incheap rookie and get gun mid

fev, soloman out-look at franklin or deledio

You ask for peoples advice then throw it back in there face.
So I'll spell it out again.

YOU HAVE TOO MUCH MONEY ON YOUR BENCH.

There are some good basement price rookies who will grow in value as the season unfolds. The money you save purchasing them can be used to buy some guns, especially for your midfield.

At the moment the in laws are a mile in front.

...

More of a theory explanation than a bit of face action.

Having some money on the bench methinks is insurance of injuries. I worry about rookies playing 6 games or less and not to be available when I need them to play to cover said injury.

Blessings upon you and your wisdom.

Hi Pythons,

Just looks lite on in the mids, would try and get at least one premium outside mid in there like Ablett, Cooney or a player of that ilk.

Disco

Have you got heaps of cash spare pythons cause you ain't got any premiums but have a lot of mids. Still seems you are light on in all areas IMO.  McEvoy is 3rd ruck behing King and Gardiner so take a chance with White or Currie from sydney, one of which will get a guernsey cause of the absence of spida (and less cash). Having money on the bench for injury insurance is not a bad idea for your team as McGuire, Malceski, Cornes, Haselby, Lucas, Higgins and Headland are all coming back from long term  injury and you would be lucky to get one of these to play every game. I'm not trying to be harsh pythons but if your inlaws follow their footy closely you'll get done easily IMO.

Pink Pythons

very sound advice.

I will go back to drawing board and ..... draw.

I will yield to my Judd man-crush.

dylan84

also you need a few players as captain options, ie ablett, bartell, cox, franklin, boomer etc. you NEED some high end players i think
obree still a worry

and whatever you do, REMOVE SELLAR NOW!!!!

hendo88

Players you have in your team i wouldn't go near:
Harding (there's Birchall, Johncock, Guerra, Bolton, Mundy all in his price range), O'Bree (wasn't even worth it in his prime), Morton (too expensive), Simmonds (was only worth it last year because he was so cheap), Goodwin (overpriced and much better options), Solomon (why????)

I don't know where you've wasted all your money, but you can do much better with the salary cap this year than this

A TEAM

nah not the best team i've seen. would finish in bottom 4 in my league. can't understand where all the money went haha no stars in the midfield? won't get very far in any decent league. Not gonna give a lot away but
get some geelong and hawthorn players...just 2 from each will help you in the long run!
