Well my team consits of..

Bk: L. Hodge, A. Mackie, B. Goddard, C. Cornes, A. Raines, S. Hill, J. Petrenko;;  N. Suban, G. Broughton

Mid: S. Pendlebury, B. Gibbs, S. Burgoyne, N. Foley, P. Hasleby, D. Rich;; P. Dangerfield, D. Beams

Rk: D. Cox, H. McIntosh;; M. Pyke, S. Jacobs

Fwd: M. Pavlich, L. Franklin, J. Brown, T. Cloke, S. Higgins, H. Skipworth, J. Ziebell;; S. Sidebottom, M. Brown (WCE)

Have 206,200 spare

I'm not sure on Sidebottom anymore, could downgrade him for a cheaper player. Dangerfield I know will play but not sure when, so maybe downgrade? With the money spare could upgrade Hasleby to a premium;

OR;

Upgrade S. Hill, J. Petrenko or one of the rookies on the bench to Jarryn Geary maybe.. Any thoughts or other suggestions to make my team the best?? :D

hibbo

You will be extremely lucky if 2 of your 4 back rookies play each week for the first 6-9 before you upgrade them. With the 200K upgrade one of Petrenko/SUban/Broughton to maybe Houlihan (will play every game barring injury and has posted good scores in the past).

And your top 4 forwards are all big leading marking players. These type of players are more inconsistent then the likes of deledio/harvey/ NG Brown/didak/chappy/ stevie J. Maybe invest in one or two of these players. Just food for thought.

J-Mac

Yeah, I'm still undecided for the bench players. I'm not sold on Houlihan but I'll keep a look out. I was thinking of changing john brown for chapman, but the only problem is how injury prone chapman is. So I gotta have a long look.

With 200kish left does anyone else have any other ideas?

Uncle

i like the midfield as it is... plenty of keepers without overspending. rucks are also good. Backs seriously need work. Geary and houlihan are both good cheap backs... i'd also consider downgrading mackie to Drummond, Malceski, or adcock. hill is probably good enough to start on the ground, but petrenko is a 9th back at best at this stage... i definately agree with Hibbo... i'd be looking at switching 2 of those. IMO brown has to go, as he is traditionally a very very slow starter, and once again he has had a limited preseason. Look at the people hibbo suggests..

J-Mac

Yeah I did swap Suban for Houlihan (may still go for Geary, just on because of Houlihans injuries over the years) and yeah i agree Brown is a slow starter, I swapped him out for Deledio; Not sure if I should have Suban or Petrenko though.

I'm tossing up trading out Mackie, but I been a big fan of his for a couple of years, has been pretty consistant over the years.

My team looks a little something like this now...

Bk: L. Hodge, A. Mackie, B. Goddard, C. Cornes, A. Raines, R. Houlihan, S. Hill, ;;  J. Petrenko, G. Broughton

Mid: S. Pendlebury, B. Gibbs, S. Burgoyne, N. Foley, P. Hasleby, D. Rich;; P. Dangerfield, D. Beams

Rk: D. Cox, H. McIntosh;; M. Pyke, S. Jacobs

Fwd: M. Pavlich, L. Franklin, D. Deledio, T. Cloke, S. Higgins, H. Skipworth, J. Ziebell;; S. Sidebottom, M. Brown (WCE)

Anything else that looks like it needs improvement??

Only got $4100 left in the account

My tip....dump burgoyne...i've had him the past few seasons and vowed never again!! one of the most erratic players goin around! when he's bad, he is very, very bad!

J-Mac

I had Burgoyne a few seasons back and he burnt me bad. I put him in because I heard he has had a great preseason, I'm just hoping that it translates to the season and he is able to break his tags, which is his main problem.
But I am open to trading him before the season starts, only problem is I'd only have 383100  to trade with, which I can't really think of a better person, except maybe Dal Santo, Trav Boak or Chris Knights.

Is there anyone at $383100 that people think I should trade S. Burgoyne for?

love4thegame

im tippin dal santo boak and knights for massive years mate

It's a hard toss up between the four of them really, I'd probably steer clear of Boak I'd think. Unless convinced otherwise, Knighter did have a pretty decent preseason and Burgoyne didn't have much of one. I got no idea about Dal Santo.

Am also thinking about putting Liam Anthony in for Dangerfield, just not sure how early he will be getting a game, this would free up about 30k for more upgrades. Still am not sure if this is a wise move though.

Anyone else I should consider for $383100?? Or anyone that should be a lock?

J-Mac

Does anyone think that there is a particular area of my team that needs work?

Yeah Liam Anthony looks like he will be a fair good pick up and those who don't read too much into fantasy probably wouldn't have him I'd guess, but I don't know who I should swap him for. My bro knows Dange and reckons he probably be in and out of the crows squad, Rich I'm not too sold on purely for the fact that he wasn't all that fantastic in the preseason..

Need suggestions as to who I should swap Anthony out for...? Still not sold on Steele Sidebottom either.

Yakuza

get rid of danger!!!!
i was expecting massive things too, i had him in my team aswell.
averaged 27 from 2 or 3 games last year and had two games in the pre-season for an average of about 33 or something horrible.
when you compare that to anthonys average of 79 including his first game of 39 (only played a half)
it seems pretty clear to me.
Rich is a ready made player, i think all the hype will come true.
he'll be firing by round 4-5.

Im taking a punt to pick up Buddy early to mid season. Little under done atm. No question hes a gun, hoping 2 bad games in a row. One of those 1 goal 6 behinds days. Ill snap him up then.

J-Mac

Yeah dropped Danger for Liam Anthony, which left me with 32900 which I think I should use to upgrade Shaun Burgoyne to Joel Selwood
