5/6 rounds in already.  For those on different midfield strategies - how's it going?

Mention what one you went with - 1 starting, 2, 3,4 etc.

Me personally? I picked 2 rookies to start but I think with Barlow doing so well, should have started with 3.

Had 3 starting but had bad bench options. Went Strauss and Banner. Traded strauss out for Schuey and he does a knee. Copped a donut with Boyd out last week. In all, not doing too well with the benchies.

But cashing in on warnock and banner likely this round. Bye Bye Banner, Hello Pendles/Gibbs ;D

I went with just barlow with martin and basti on the bench and I'm going along pretty well

HintT

You've limited your cash cow options though.

I had 3 starting, Barlow and Martin have been the main stays and have rotated between Trengove, Basti for the other spot with Jetta being a permi-bench.

I would take this approach again, but is this view scewed by Barlow effectively being a premi?

Have had Barlow, Trengove and Martin playing and Bastinac and Morabito on the bench. Probably cashing in Mora this week and Bastinac in the next couple

No, it works marvellously with Barlow beginning to be a premium!

Umm I don't think so

HintT

3 in the mid as opposed to 4,5,6?

Yes.

brownmans muffins

from week 1 i've stared 3: barlow/martin/trengove
2 on bench are shuey / bastinac

while i've been tempted to alter the starting 3 before, this is the first week i actually have had to with the martin soreness. now with gaj out that'll be my first actual donut for the season.

HintT I have got 6 cashcows 2 in def 2 in mids 2 in the fwd so I'm sure that is enough ???

Seems that the top 5 teams are roughly split 50/50 between 4 or 5 mid rookies - so not much difference at this stage. I guess the long term prognosis is yet to come. However, I think the remainder of the team selection is more important than how many rookie mids you have.

Hydra

I had Barlow and Trengove, and Bastinac and SHuey on the bench.

Due to Barlow playing so well, I've only got Trengove and Bastinac to upgrade (with Shuey out), which HAS limited by cash cow options.

However, trading out Bastinac to a premium and keeping Trengove as my emergency midfielder looks like a good option, whilst hoping Shuey finds some form throughout the year :).

SCADDICT

Wish I had gone with the 3 rookie midfield, Barlow, Martin and Trengove. If you look at the things the top teams all share(apart from the stock standard picks) it seems to be having a 3 rookie midfield. Obviously they then used the extra cash to improve there team.  :(
