Different philosophy than most?

Being my first time on SC and all. I thought well I do not know the points scoring system as well as I would like to. So instead I have gone for early trades. I am wanting to get my team to a nice steady flow of scores. Which I have done this week.

Now I will not trade for a few rounds as I have made those trades needed and can sit pretty for a while, having enough on bench to cover me if something unexpected happens.

So basically I am laying a foundation in place and going from there.
When I first chose my team I knew who the guns were. But I wanted to experiment over the first few rounds of rookies and uniques.

Through this process I have found some rookies worth and not worth keeping and raising in price which allowed me to get some guns that WILL score consistently

What are your thoughts on this guys?

I think it depends on if you're trying for a league win or trying to get as high a ranking as you possibly can.

If it's the former and your 2000-2100 is getting you by I see no reason to make wholesale changes early.

If it's the latter then I think it has merit. Basically I go into a season with 20 trades and I sort of think of it like this

You need at least 6 to cover injuries that come along, we all have them and they're very frustrating and the last thing needed is a donut

8-10 are needed for your upgrades/downgrades during the year, to make the side the best it can possibly be when you want it to be, late in the year

That leaves 4-6 to get the side right, if you believe you can get it done and early and then have a few rounds of set and forget until it comes time to start culling the cash cows, then I say do it. But if you're still not happy after using 4-5 trades, you probably didn't draft right in the first place

Thx Brat good advice. I will not be trading for the next few rounds. Unless I get an LTIon my line up of 22 and on my bench with both emergencies. I do not see this happening for quite a while. So I am just going to keep my team I have and rotate emergencies when necessary depending on the side they are playing for that coming week. What will most likely be their line up IE what player will sit on them and play with them from opposition.

gday misspies, your in my fanfooty ppls league and i noticed u cracked a good score this week!!!  nice one!
setting up a foundation is ok, but players in good scoring form now doesn't mean they'll remain form in 5+ weeks. i mean, who really knows???
i think everyone has made a few sneaky trades here and there. i haven't played around at all as such but i did have to swap like everyone else roo, and i dropped mitch clark and tippet. thats all i've done but this week basti and peterson are prob getting the chop. for JKT and an upgrade.
so i guess i've had to reset and create a foundation myself!!!
