For people who want to move up the ladder

I notice allot of people are trading out say Hall, Medders, Zeibell, Danger etc for Pods and Rockcliff and about every trade after that is upgrading to Judd.

Now everyone wants to move up the ladder and improve overall that goes without saying but if you are doing what everyone else is doing how are you going to improve on your rankings.
Judd is a gun but there are also players that haven fallen in price i.e. Lenny Hayes comes to mind.
So you trade a player that was to be a cash cow like Medders or Danger for a rookie theres one trade... then you trade Mitchell to judd from that which really is a sideways trade because Mitchell isn't performing so all you are doing is using the money from the Pods trade to make up the money you have lost from Mitchell kicking to many clangers, yeah you will get a price rise for Pods but all you are doing is using 2 trades to pocket $85,000 and correct picking the wrong premium.
Then theres the fact you have not made any money of the likes of Medders which prob was the idea in the first place when you picked him.
Just about everyone will be trading one of Hall, Z, Danger, Medders for one of the 2 rookies, so if you are following the trend and using 2 trade like everyone else and are getting the same price rise as everyone else then you are really making it hard to move substantially up the ladder.

i thought the whole pt was to make money and then trade to genuine fallen prems but people seem to want to pay full price for Judd and get him him in even before we see if he can hold his average and you will trade out another money maker to do so but then will have to use 2 trade down the track to get the upgrade out of Pods/Rockcliffe.

By following the trend and using trades in this manner will not improve you too much by the end of the year.

But without following the trend, can it make your team drop in the rankings.

Good point though Hippo.

Dont mean to be a downer but.........[/size]
Your arguement is flawed not gonna bother explaining why coz' like most people who are good at DT & SC we dont try and tell every1 the right and wrong thing to do. We  know whats right, do it, and watch every1 else fade away!

I mean seriously this is a great site and all but look at Monty he's doing shi..t at the moment.
He's a great despenser of information but not a great fantasy coach!
Point being do your research and trust your own findings because no one really tells you the nitty gritty of doing well in these comps. As far as im concerned the most important thing is "MAth"

if your wondering Ranked in the top 2000 with 20 trades left. Will 100% finish in atleast the top 100.

So What, he is cheap at the mo and is 30-40 points better than my previouse choice, isnt the aim to get as many points as possible??

dajaysta

great point hippo.

I think that finding that player that perhaps is a little bit more of an "think outside of the square type" player will give you more of a chance of having just simply acting on what everybody else seems to be doing especially regarding JUDD who has only been back for one week!!!!!

But that's cool im happy for people to burn trades.

This is not a sprint its a marathon!!!!!!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ok and your team name?

But if you dont have the highest scoring permiums in your side then you just start falling behind everyone else that does. Ths trick is to having the rest of the structure right around them and the right uniques. Ignore Judd at your own peril and keep whoever you have in his place and lose 40 point a week to everyone else that has Judd.
