Mish

correct me if i am wrong, but i think a lot of people are making too many trades wayyyy too early and are not letting their cash cows do their job (being a CASHHH COWWWW!!! MOO!)

just because your seing the likes of pods, rockliff, lucas etc. with extremely low BE's it doesnt mean you have to jump onto them and dump a cash cow who hasnt had time to go up in price.

there are still lots of young kids that will be playing througout the season and you will not run out of more cash cows... e.g denis-lane, cunnington, Hams etc. who will be there with really low BE's as well once they get a run.

DT Money doesnt make the team good if you dont have many trades left, there will be plenty more injuiries this year and you will end up regreting making so many trades so early on.

look at some of the more experienced DT'ers like Hellopplz, Valkorum and Master Q, Flame... these guys end up in the top 3k year in year out because to them this game is a marathon and overtake most of you guys when your in trouble in the later half of the season when those players you relied on arnt getting you the scores you expected or get injuired.

As I mentioned in another post

It all depends on your goal ..... do you want to win your comp or do you want a high ranking.
If you want to win your comp you have to save as many trades as possible
If you want a high ranking you have to go aggressive and trade a lot early (week 3 to 9) and keep 6 to 8 trades for injuries and a few late upgrades

This doesn't mean you do dumb things with lots of site ways trading but IMO you need be agressive to get a high end of season ranking

Ps FYI I was top 400 last year but did not win my comp (had by far the highest total though)

:o :o :o
I get thought of too highly on here ;D. Don't have any of the "popular" or nuffy picks so suffering early. Still have all 20 trades but might be down to 19 or 18 depending on my status after teams are named.

nice antonc. agree with your points. If you are going or the car, got to stay up there early. Or if you are like me and going for neither, you don't know what to do until you get to that fork in the road ;D.

where high ranking seems to be the more likely objective do demonstrate that we (this forum) are more trade averse

Im new to DT but am looking to win my comp. Can I ask whats the theory behind saving as many trades as you can until the end of the season as opposed to upgrading rookies mid season when they are at there peak?

I really dont want to trade as I have used 2 for injury but figure as I have hardly any cash, it might be wise to get on Pods wagon by selling Mayne.

I guess another question would be, how exactly do you win your league? Does it come down to total season points, points in league from 18 games, wins in league, wins in final of league. Sorry for the confusion, but hoping someone can clear this up so I can readjust my goals for the season before its too late.

If you are going for League win, save at least 4 trades for round 19 - 22. You use them to upgrade your team and take your opponent by suprise. These are finals and there is a knock out version of it. Have to finish in the top 8 to be the best of the league.

Overall ranking is tallied by how much your team scores over a season.

Flame

Let em fry Mish..Saving trades to use when everyone is coping donuts will help your team near the end. You'll beat your mates and rise up the rankings.
