Just a point I am hoping the veterans can help clear up for me.

Since the Hawks in 08 and the Cats in 09 both rested their guns in the last 4 or 5 rounds in the lead up to finals, and this strategy is now pretty much considered a must if a club has sewn up top 4, would this not lead to a few awkward situations DT wise?

It means it is almost imperative you keep 4 to 6 trades in hand for the last 4 games (finals in league play mind you) so you can cover when an Ablett or a Montagna is rested for a game or 2. You may have cover on the bench but if you are playing a team with a Gibbs or the like and your cover is a lesser light you could be knocked out of finals play by carrying the guns who happen to be in a top 4 side.

May not be as important in pursuit of the car of course, but in league play it could certainly be a critical factor...

I'm still learning, so be gentle ;D

It definitely needs to be taken in account.  Was quite inconvenient last year.
