The Matchbox Matadors won by 1 wicket :)

In my chase of the target I was 5 for 214 requiring 2 runs from the final 2 overs so victory all but seemed a guarantee. However 2 balls later Wilkinson fell for 98 (:(), then the next ball Sawle was out for a golden duck, and the remaining over was dots, so it was a double wicket maiden meaning I still needed 2 runs, but now off just 1 over and with 3 wickets in hand. In the final over I got 1 run off the first ball so I knew I could not lose, then a run out, then a dot, then ANOTHER run out, but finally on the second last ball we scored that run ::)

Man of the Match
3. Jimmy Wilkinson - 98 runs from 92 balls. Painstakingly close to his another hundred...
2. Dilip Jafferjee - 3 for 49 with the ball, plus a catch. Also hit the winning run off the only ball he faced.
1. His guy...

Nice to get the upset :)
But unfortunately HP won his match by 173 runs and so with 1 round to go jumps ahead of me by NRR, and that is where he will stay next week as he plays the worst team in the league meaning I will miss out on promotion to div 1 :(
Well done HP ;)

2 YOD matches left... And it's neck to neck at the top CF! Gonna be an interesting two matches, should be decided by NRR in the end unless once of us get upset ;).
You will win HP. You are playing the worst 2 teams in the comp in the final 2 rounds, whilst I have to play the best team (ratings wise) tonight and will most likely lose :(

Been a very intense campaign though, 1 win for each of us in our head to head battles, both on our home turf utilising better pitch conditions ;)
I know, was a great league, close throughout with I think 4 of us rating over 100k.

Nice upset though CF 8). Still in with a chance if my team kinda chokes next week though! I just have to hope they don't and able to maintain the NRR lead. We need to arrange some friendlies next season though to continue the Youth rivalry :). See how Wilky holds up ;).

Yeah certainly was a great league! Very unlucky for Snowtop, pretty sure the 6 matches he lost he out rated the opponent in all of them!!
I'm sure your boys wont choke next week, but the only upside is currently you will be playing on a green and I will be playing on a hard (if the opponents don't change the pitches) so I may be able to post a big score...

How about a youth friendly for next thursday but as an U18 game? See how we will look heading in to the new season?

Yeah, can't believe he lost so many matches rating as much as he does. I hope your pitch changes to sticky or crumbling :P.

Sounds good for next week :). Shame, I have some holes that need to be filled as my luck with pulls this season have been off. But should still be able to rate a bit to challenge you 8).

Happy with those ratings. Only 1 19yo playing. Hopefully I'll be playing against some FF teams next season in Div 2.

I'm also trying to decide on whether to keep my 19yo... What would he be worth if I offloaded him?

@Fletch - I would hold out til he pops to accom/accom before selling.  His experience is gonna hurt your sale price but you could get a nub bidding ;)

Won by 68 runs. It came too late for me but I seem to have finally hit my perfect team for this season in youth (Sacrifice a little spin rating by bowling Engelbert and play the extra bat). Wilkinson threw down the gauntlet with 98....and Cusack shoved it right up his tilt with 113  :P  Lead for him in the batting trophy is now 93.

Haha Cusack batted before Wilkinson last night so he had already scored 113 before Wilkinson got to face a ball :P
Also the lead is actually 107, since Wilkinson went away for the NAT tour he missed out on a week of run scoring...
