You didn't need to buy a young gun nails. Sweeney wasnt great but he wasn't terrible either. He had plenty of seasons left in him
Sweeney was actually quite decent. Don't think selling him was worth it, but i guess Holz has benefited from it. :P

Sweeney was good, but I'm hoping to get someone better down the track. The one thing I lacked was a quality strike bowler which is what I'm trying to acquire. Timmins will help me avoid relegation and I wouldn't have enough $ for my young fasty if I didn't sell Sweeney.

Tough match up against BP tonight. Last week I rated just 327 points more than BP! But being the crafty person he is, BP has gone ahead and made the pitch dry, possibly my worst pitch since I only have 1 spinner and 4 pacers. On the other hand BP has 3 spinners. Could be a tough game!

That ends the innings of RavioliTins. PowerBugCC will have a target of 236 to chase

Tough chase to begin with, this didn't help:

2.3 W Deepika to Aronstam : [Bouncer] Short ball. There's a noise. Everyone jumps. He's OUT. The umpire has given him. What a delivery from Deepika and what a catch from Griffith. Off goes Aronstam, back to the pavilion
P. Aronstam c T. Griffith b. B. Deepika 2 (9b 0x4 0x6) SR:22.22

Well, i had a very interesting game today. I was yet to lose and he was 1-1. Things started poorly, at one stage i thought i would be chasing 300+, but i pegged them back to 236/5 off the 40. In reply i lost two early wickets then batted at 3po until the break, where i lost Laghari and things were looking grim, even with my two best bats at the crease and Odhiambo set:

End of over 20 (5 runs) - PowerBugCC(73-3). 163 runs required from 20 overs. RR 3.65 RRR 8.15
H. Ongola 5 (7b) , G. Odhiambo 35 (58b) , B. Deepika 6-0-18-2

After the break things picked up, and the RRR was staying at around 8-9po but once i lost Ongola in the 31st over i needed 10po:

End of over 31 (3 runs) - PowerBugCC(144-4). 92 runs required from 9 overs. RR 4.65 RRR 10.22
A. McCabe 2 (1b) , G. Odhiambo 68 (95b) , J. Huntington 8-0-25-2

Only thing i had in my favour was that his best bowler bowled out, and the 17yo, 14k RFS had 4 still to bowl. I never thought i was in with a chance but Odhiambo and Keeper-Captain McCabe kept going. McCabe fell in the 35th over:

End of over 35 (7 runs) - PowerBugCC(183-5). 53 runs required from 5 overs. RR 5.23 RRR 10.60
V. Mvovo 4 (2b) , G. Odhiambo 85 (107b) , S. Anand 6-0-36-1

That was the last wicket i lost, Odhiambo and Mvovo getting me home with one ball to spare  The last five overs going: 14 , 4 , 8 , 12 , 17.

His only spinner on a dry cost him, going for 82 off 7.5 overs. I suppose that's why the home team chooses the pitch, and it made the difference in my game. I stay top of my league and am in with a shot at promotion.

Nice stuff PB well done!

End of over 20 (5 runs) - The Brat Pack(89-3) RR 4.45
B. van der Linden 7 (17b) , A. Meyer 37 (47b) , D. Mahabir 6-1-30-0

Hard to say who is on top at the moment in this game. BP's top 3 batters all gone, but still scoring at a steady rate on a dry pitch. Really wish I had more than 1 spinner...

Pretty even on the uneven deck, may come down to how my guys bowl.. or my showerty batting depth!

G. Harms 22 (16b) , N. Engelbert 41 (35b) , D. Jafferjee 8-0-46-2

Going to be tough to chase that on a dry/hot against 3 spinners...

My bowlers just couldn't manage to pick up wickets when they needed to. Got both the openers out pretty cheaply, but after that every single batter got to at least 20 runs. Going to need at least 1 big partnership between my top 3 batters to get over the line, although if that fails my only consolidation is that my batting is very deep. My number 8 is avg/ord...

I have to chuckle at the Gilbert Wright bidding and marvel at how lucky I was.

Gilbert Wright: Rated almost 44k at 20 - 500k
Ernest Lalor: Rated almost 42k (And at the time the #1 rated Zimbabwean for his age) at 20 - 110k

Should still get up. Engelbert is more a batsman who bowls part time offies than a strike bowler

You've still got Harms though. May not be the best pitch for him but I'm sure he'll still wreak havoc in his second spell.

I did enjoy this though...
6.4   6   S. Harms to Wilkinson : S. Harms briefly had the batsman in two minds with that delivery. He didn't know whether to hit him for four or six!
