I know you ALL hate it...

But considering you pay 600K for a young AR to last 8 seasons I'd prefer just pay 50-100K for 1 AR every 1-2 seasons.

You're going to have a pretty similar skillset, just one is going downhill and one is going up.

However old AR cost less and can be easily replaced. I know Deveney isn't really an AR w/ only ave batting and you all say he's shower, but he gets the job done...

http://fromthepavilion.org/player.htm?playerId=134024 has taken: 7/121 ave 17 SR 23 - averaging 16.5 (from 3 innings, 1no) w/ the bat (scored 31 in one innings) - yes batting leaves a bit desired, but he works as a no.7

And in T20 has averaged 12.7 and SR 12.8 w/ the ball taking 7/89 from 4 matches. I know these aren't great numbers but he was a super cheap player, and I'll use him for this season, costing me only 13K (or something like that) rather than spending 500K on an AR.

Rinse and repeat next season.
While I agree with your logic a 32 yr old would defeat the purpose of me going young.

10 20yos and 1 30yo does not make your squad old. It'd help w/ a bit more exp at the crease too. It can help 5 years down the track when you might struggle for wages too, easier to offload your AR at the time than some tasty young prospect.

Can also be a solution for 2 seasons while you save money to be able to buy a gun young AR.

My XI is:
4*20yr olds
4*21
1*24
1*25
1*26
As the old guy would replace a 20 yr old, I dont see why I would.
However I wouldnt mind a guy who is 25/26.

MajorLazer

So your average age is about 21-22?

ARs are really going to set you back financially. I dont have one, but not sure if I really need one.

Man what a start it was, shame Ud-Din/Sreerupa got blown out of the water along with legbyes.

23.6   .   Deveney to Howard : [dropped] Howard attempts a cut and manages to get a thick edge. Sweeney jumps high and gets a glove to it but is unable to take the chance.

18.2   .   Hussain to Dell : [missed runout] Dell calls for a single but is sent back by his partner. Sreerupa makes a wild return and misses the run out opportunity.

28.6   .   Ud-Din to Dell : [dropped] An edge, but Sweeney's poor footwork means he's not in a position to hold the catch. Ud-Din is livid.

35.3   .   Hussain to Dell : [dropped] Uppishly played towards cover, Deveney dives forward, gets his hands underneath the ball, but then somehow manages to drop the ball.

3rd missed opportunity on Dell  ::) ::) ::)

40.4   .   Sreerupa to Dell : [missed runout] Yes! Wait! No! Confusion reigns as Dell attempts a suicidal run. Luckily for him, Deveney has thrown to the wrong end, allowing Dell to regain his ground.

Fourth missed opportunity... could cost us greatly  ::)

42.3   1   Sreerupa to Robbins : [dropped] On leg stump and the batsman gets just enough on that to evade the keeper's gloves. A bit more awareness from Sweeney and he might have taken a catch there.

43.3   .   Deveney to Robbins : [dropped] That's skied to mid-wicket where Hussain is fielding and drops one he should have taken. Deveney and Sweeney shake their heads in disbelief as Hussain looks for a shady spot to hide.

45.4   .   Deveney to Dell : [dropped] An edge, but Sweeney's poor footwork means he's not in a position to hold the catch. Deveney is livid.

46.1   2   Sreerupa to Kity : [dropped] Oh dear. Kity has sent the ball high into the air. Christie positions himself under it and... oh no, he's dropped it! Let me tell you, if looks could kill, Sreerupa would be on trial right now...
