I know you ALL hate it...

But considering you pay 600K for a young AR to last 8 seasons I'd prefer just pay 50-100K for 1 AR every 1-2 seasons.

You're going to have a pretty similar skillset, just one is going downhill and one is going up.

However old AR cost less and can be easily replaced. I know Deveney isn't really an AR w/ only ave batting and you all say he's shower, but he gets the job done...

And in T20 has averaged 12.7 and SR 12.8 w/ the ball taking 7/89 from 4 matches. I know these aren't great numbers but he was a super cheap player, and I'll use him for this season, costing me only 13K (or something like that) rather than spending 500K on an AR.

Rinse and repeat next season.

While I agree with your logic a 32 yr old would defeat the purpose of me going young.

10 20yos and 1 30yo does not make your squad old. It'd help w/ a bit more exp at the crease too. It can help 5 years down the track when you might struggle for wages too, easier to offload your AR at the time than some tasty young prospect.

Can also be a solution for 2 seasons while you save money to be able to buy a gun young AR.

As the old guy would replace a 20 yr old, I dont see why I would.
However I wouldnt mind a guy who is 25/26.

35.3   .   Hussain to Dell : [dropped] Uppishly played towards cover, Deveney dives forward, gets his hands underneath the ball, but then somehow manages to drop the ball.

40.4   .   Sreerupa to Dell : [missed runout] Yes! Wait! No! Confusion reigns as Dell attempts a suicidal run. Luckily for him, Deveney has thrown to the wrong end, allowing Dell to regain his ground.

42.3   1   Sreerupa to Robbins : [dropped] On leg stump and the batsman gets just enough on that to evade the keeper's gloves. A bit more awareness from Sweeney and he might have taken a catch there.
