Yeah I'm not totally sure Alex... I just played players who have skill levels ~4 or so levels higher thinking that the difference can't be THAT great...

This is something I'm willing to listen and learn on however as I would like my younger seamers playing, especially for the exp :)
I mean sure the spinners may or may not out-perform the seamers. But when you consider that you have a tough promotion battle in SOD and these guys are old you should really be saving the fatigue considering these are the kinds of conditions where you'd want to bring in the seamers (and have a smaller disadvantage.)
The exp for the young 'uns is just a perk really ;)

Yeah that's fair enough :) I just wanted to get my best team ratings wise out the gate first, as I'm not sure what this guy will rate with his new addition. This guy is one of my hardest opponents, hence not wanting to play my lower bowlers... just yet. I really do want to get Texel into it along with Hussain as Hussler has a bright future IMO.

Should have played at least 3 seamers, perhaps not Deveney as he is a medium (hard :-\) however they would have performed better.

Deveney ended up being the best bowler w/ 2/29 - his OBB talent really seems to help.

Perhaps will play Tex in future, I'll make a post in the thread like I said and see what people said, but yes I do need to work on avoiding fatigue lol. I'm hoping Betts (32) can play nearly every game w/ WORLD CLASS endo.

On a much lighter note:

Extras:   (b 0, lb 1, w 1, nb 0)   2

Great effort by the boys in the field! (minus Sweeney's dropped catch  >:()

2.3   4   Bollinger to Simon : [misfield] Sliding onto leg stump and worked away behind square where Lansing makes a hash of it at fine leg and concedes a boundary.
2.2   6   Bollinger to Simon : Bollinger bowls a lollipop and Simon rocks back and gives it the full treatment. Six runs!
2.1   4   Bollinger to Simon : Short ball, Simon hooks it away for four.
2.1   nb6   Bollinger to Simon : Bollinger briefly had the batsman in two minds with that delivery. He didn't know whether to hit him for four or six!

SIMON!!!! :O :O :O

End of over 3 (23 runs) - The Nailers(44-0). 133 runs required from 17 overs. RR 14.67 RRR 7.82
R. Simon 40 (15b) , M. Christie 3 (4b) , F. Bollinger 2-0-30-0

If you can't beat him nails something is wrong.  He is a mate of mine and he doesn't really worry about seniors just yet. His 20 year olds are home grown.  If you don't promote this season good luck in the future with the side hedger will have

I was thinking T20 shouldn't be too hard to promote in... BUT...

http://www.fromthepavilion.org/scorecard.htm?gameId=1698158

Look at that guy's ratings... 172K :(

FML. At least he plays on a crumbling and my spin ratings look better than this... I'm really going to work on saving my spinners now.

Edit: Just looked at why his ratings boosted sooo huge... He spent 680K on that gun Englishman I posted a week ago... He was elite keeper and like outs or spec bat... That guy will destroy our league... hopefully I can defeat him.

My 22yo all-rounder has a higher wage than your 32yo A/R lol.

Nails, what are your plans if you actually succeed in promoting this season. The players you currently have won't be competitive in higher divisions as their skills will rapidly decrease

Cloudy/Dry: Going 3 seamers and 2 spinners. My opponents ranking is 1660~ but his players are quite good.

Too bad for him that he's yet to log on this season. :(

Earn money and try and finish one position above demotion lol. Increase academies.

I plan next season to be a money earning and academy building year... Then after that season my batters (best ones) will be 24 and Spec/Spec sometime that year (hopefully) and competitive. I'll buy a couple old bowlers and have a crack...

I've found that players at 30yo don't decrease THAT much... Mamta only plopped once last season for me and I managed to train him to a pop in what he plopped.

But yeah... I'm not having big expectations next season if I do promote...

I like low wages too, so I enjoy  Deveney having a low wage :) I don't have to pay him much :)

It's just form. Generally makes you rate 5-10k less than you normally would.

Yeah but a guy I used to rate higher than has hit 172K in T20 because of his spec batter w/ elite keeping :(
