Did I pay too much for these guys?

Rene Simon: I got him because his batting and technique are both expert. I did throw $95,000 at him (got caught in a bidding war zzzz) and his wage is ~$3,700... TOO MUCH???

http://www.fromthepavilion.org/player.htm?playerId=456392

and Billy Maddox

Paid $64,486 for him got him for his accomplished bowling and technique.
Wage of $3,816. He was a pretty good youth bowler too, average of 19.05 (although I imagine this is fairly irrelevant?)

http://www.fromthepavilion.org/player.htm?playerId=447710

Both overpays....No secondaries. You should NEVER have gotten into a bidding war for the first guy.....past 50-60k he was overs

Seconardies?  :-\
Secondaries are the skills other than abtting/bowling/keeping and technique.

Fielding, power and endurance are all important.

80K

Just bid 50K and am now in front :)

I want a team that'll build up and be good over time, so like a bunch of 20 yo, but I want 1-2 ~29yo for immediate success.

http://www.fromthepavilion.org/player.htm?playerId=47986 - got him for 50,000. Worth it?

Nails I think you should get 1 or 2 oldies, then the rest should be 24 or older.

Ah and just so you know Oldies in FTP is usually 27 and older. That's when they start slowing down...

80K

I'm sorry but on what planet is he worth 80k? Poor Experience for a 29yr, Poor power for a 29yr old and he can barely field. Even 50k is an over pay

Nails here is some advice.
Try not to stress to much. Read the Game Rules, only way you will understand.
Until you have read them, dont buy players! you dont have a good enough understanding of them yet.
Also, dont take advice from Cicjose. No offense Cic, but your no help if you think that player was 80K.

Nails, over the weekend read though this: http://www.fromthepavilion.org/rules.htm?rulespage=introduction
It is quite long but gives you a better understanding of how the game works as a whole.

Spent quite a bit of cash on all 3 players where I wouldn't have put over 80k combined for all of them :-\. First 2 guys were young but not much fielding/endurance will hurt long term :-\. I've got some players borderline for me which I can sell to you for bottom price if you want.
http://www.fromthepavilion.org/player.htm?playerId=536354 - Not a great batsman but will be good for the first few weeks until you are able to build a good all round squad, in which he'll be chopped fairly quickly.
http://www.fromthepavilion.org/player.htm?playerId=433980 - Cap/Rel/Exp All rounder who isn't getting games for me and doesn't look like he will in the coming seasons :(.

The bottom one I'll be willing to put up for anybody if they want if he will be playing for them :).

I'd love both of them if you don't mind HP :D Based on their stats I'd probably pay $500,000...  ;D (based on how I've been going so far.... lol)

I'd really appreciate it :D How do you transfer a player between two teams? Or do I have to outbid others in an auction?

You'll have to outbid them :)
Be careful not to get caught up in spending lots on young players early. Chances are in your academies ( start low) they won't fulfill their potential and therefore won't end up being the player you payed for.
